WooCommerce Cost of Sales – deduction before commission
—
by
Am setting up Affiliates Pro in a WooCommerce system selling subscriptions and want to pay commission on SALES minus : COUPONS + TAX + COST OF SALES + FINANCE COSTS.
Whilst not yet tested, looks like we can set deduction of Coupons & Tax before commission calculation, but not sure about Cost of Sales (which are set per product in WooCommerce) or Finance Costs (this item is not essential)?
Thanks you

Hi
Yes, we are using that WooCommerce extension. Understand and note your points and so we will proceed on that basis for now.
Going forward, you will understand the principle that offering a higher % commission on the “Net Margin” of a product after deduction of Cost of Goods, provides a potentially more attractive method of attracting affiliates to engage with a program – even though the sum paid to an affiliate will still be the same, .
So look forward to seeing if you are able to implement this some time in the future.
Many thanks,
Hi Paul,
Yes, I agree with that and certainly see the value in it, too. And it’s an opportunity to make both extensions more attractive when used together 🙂
Hi Paul,
I assume that you are using the Cost of Goods extension for WooCommerce.
The calculation for the net order amount doesn’t take the cost provided through this extension into account. But I think it’s worth to have a look and see if we can extend the implementation to do so. I can’t promise on when this would be available so I would recommend to adjust the commission rates per product (if you check under Affiliates > WooCommerce Integration you will see how these are activated).
