Why are new affiliate sign ups directed to wp-login and not affiliate area ??

I am really confused, hope you can help.

Why when a new affiliate register are they given the link to wp-login ???
Why are they not given a link to the affiliate area.

I just now signed up on your demo product at http://affiliates-share.itthinx.org/affiliate-area/

What is the point of sending me that wp-login link and why does the given username and passw not work when going to the section thats says: Please log in to access the affiliate area. http://affiliates-share.itthinx.org/affiliate-area/

I have the exact same issue on my own site, except i have changed the welcome email with link to affiliate are, but the affiliate area login does not work, same as on above mentioned site.
