Warning: when adding a object or term for rates

Hi guys!

Hopes everything is good with you?

Using:
Affiliate Enterprise Version 4.13.0

I’m playing around with my local sandbox and noticed a warning when I’m trying to add an object or term for rates.

“Warning: count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in /Users/user/ProjectsWP/itthinx/app/public/wp-content/plugins/affiliates-enterprise/lib/ext/includes/class-affiliates-rate.php on line 83”

I also noticed that I can’t remove that object I added under level 0

Is this a known bug? If yes is there and patch to fix this?

  1. Hey Jonas,

Thanks for providing access to your site and apologies for the delayed response.

As it seems there was another issue with rates and for that reason we released another update.
Once you update your installation to Affiliates Enterprise version 4.14.1 you will notice that rates for tiered commissions limited to WC categories are applied properly now.

    Kind regards,
    George

      Hi George

Thanks for your update but it still doesn’t calculate for tiers.

      = 4.14.1 =

      * Fixed rate detection issues with groups and terms.

Is it possible that I need to have Groups installed?

      1. Hi Jonas,

If you need to organise your affiliates into groups, then you should use Groups plugin.

        Cheers

  2. Hey Jonas,

Absolutely yes we can have a look at your setup. Once you prepare a demo, make sure to use the latest Affiliates Enterprise which has been released and includes a fix for the generated warning.
For your demo you may create a temp admin account using my personal email address, george at itthinx dot com.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hi Jonas,

Thanks for sharing your rates list.
Your rates seem to be correctly set for the terms you wish to use as conditions. From this point of view the tiered commissions won’t be calculated if the the OR gets a commission of zero( the sale total is zero due to a coupon, or the product is sold free of charge ). For this case the OR would get a referral commission of zero and there would be no tiered commissions recorded.

On the other hand the warning you correctly mentioned earlier is related to rates being edited. When the warning occurs while editing an existing rate, these changes won’t be applied.

However, if you have different results or if there is anything logged at your debug.log after you refer a new sale, then please let me know.

    Kind regards,
    George

Hi again, thanks for your replay George

Maybe I’m having a blond moment but as I understands you it should work to use terms even for tiered commission? No coupons or whats so ever is used.

I cleaned up everything products, orders, rates both in DB and in wp-admin to do some tests.

1.Added a new product and set up the rates without object or terms, purchased the product via an affiliate link and everything works at it should.
      2. Cleaned up everything a second time and created a new product.
      3. This time I set up the rates regarding my shared picture with terms and made a purchase like above but the tiers commission didn’t calculate. Only the referred affiliate got commission. I didn’t EDIT the rates only created New Rate.

This would be super if it would work with terms though we have so many different % commission on several products.

If it’s ok for you guys I can setup a demo on my server so I can reproduce everything.

    Hi again

I’ve a follow up question about this warning…

I’m trying to test with terms and levels but when I’m add an order in frontend it doesn’t calculate in the downline, only the referred affiliate get commission. I’m doing right or does this belongs to warning

      Hi George

Yes everything going well and I finally got some time over to fork Affiliates WooCommerce Views by adding levels, different status etc. I’m also gonna use Affiliates WooCommerce Views and rebuild it for Events Manager , Ninja Forms and other stuff we need it for. I’ll finally will have my flexbox and grid in the template 🙂
