Username links

Is it possible to code the links so that instead of “http://www.example.com/?affiliates=billy” we could have “http://www.example.com/billy” ?

I’ve looked at the examples on https://www.itthinx.com/shop/affiliates-by-username/, but it looks like every url has “affiliates” in the url.

  1. Hi

In our pretty links we are getting links like this http://www.geniuscityinternational.com/affiliates/c4ca4238a0b923820dcc509a6f75849b

As mentioned above we have purchased both “Affiliate by User Name” and “Affiliate Enterprise”. Now we would like to have the links on our affiliates username. It will be great if you can tell the step by step process.

    1. Hi,
are you using [affiliates_by_username] shortcode?, for example:

      [affiliates_by_username][affiliates_affiliate_url type="pretty"][/affiliates_by_username]
      [affiliates_by_username][affiliates_affiliate_link type="pretty"][/affiliates_by_username]

      cheers

  2. Hi

I am really not technical person. After purchasing your link, I did all the setup, after that I went to Affiliate>Option and now what should I type out at “Affiliate URL parameter name” so that I get affiliate link name on my affiliates name, (ex) http://www.example.com/affiliates/billy

Okay I got it… FYI, my parameter was user_name and changed it from that to “shop” now it goes to my home page. I am not sure why it didn’t work for the “user_name”, but everything is fine now.

    Cheers

    1. Thanks for the update.

    or

I just want to get rid of question mark and = thing from the link

    1. Hi,
On your installation, go to Settings > Permalinks and choose any of the options under Common Settings except Default. Once you have done that, you can use affiliates pretty links.
      you can use: [affiliates_affiliate_url type="pretty"/]
      and similar with [affiliates_affiliate_link].
      cheers

    Hi,
accurate, with Affiliates By Username plugin you can, but you must have some word can not be empty (you can configure it in Affiliates->Options->Affiliate URL parameter name).
    cheers
