Two notification emails are being sent to the affiliate

I’m having an issue that when a user registers with the site it is sending out two notification emails to the affiliate. I’m am using a registration function and integrating with Contact Form 7 using the following script in my theme functions.php

WordPress Contact Form 7 user registration

One email shows the token fields with the correct values, the other email just shows the token labels. For example: The first email has a valid email address and the second email show [form-email]. I’m not sure why it is generating two emails.

In an effort to try and troubleshoot the issue (thinking I might have a plugin conflict) I have deactivated all plugins but the following:
Affiliates Pro, Affiliates Contact Form 7 Integration, Contact Form 7 and Elegant Builder (need for my theme).

Maybe using this script with Contact Form 7 is not the best way to approach this. Are there any other registration forms that I can add additional fields and use tokens so the affiliate can see an email and name of the person that registered.

I’m open to any ideas.

  1. Hi Doug,

Yes this shouldn’t produce two notification emails although from looking at the script, I can’t see why it would end up with this being sent twice. As the form values don’t appear correctly, it seems that one notification is triggered too early but I’m not certain if this is even the same email notification that the Affiliates plugin sends out or if it’s another one.

Regarding an alternative for this case, I can recommend using Affiliates Gravity Forms although the relatively high price for the required GF license (so that the User Registration add on is available) should be justifiable for the deployment.
