Trash Disappears When Groups Plugin is Installed
—
by
I’m having trouble with my dashboard when I have the Groups plugin activated. The ‘trash’ disappears and I am unable to delete those posts I’ve cleaned out. Also, when I change a status from Private to Published the Private count remains unchanged. I’ve tried to have my WP Support look at it for me but they only say to deactivate the plugin.
I prefer not to do that as I love this plugin. Can someone help me figure out why this is happening?

Hi Rita,
I was about to check your site now that I saw your comments. Seems to me that after deactivating the privacy related plugin, you did also locate the conflicting plugin.
I will mark the topic as resolved but if you notice again something unusual, feel free to post a new topic.
Kind regards,
George
George,
Not sure if you fixed or it fixed itself but I see the ‘trash’ category again. I am getting ready to work with WP to merge another blog into this one and want to know if you were the one to fix it and say thanks.

Hi George, I forgot I had a plugin activated to keep it private. I’ve removed the password. Can you try again and let me know if you get in? Thanks so much for your help.
Rita
Hi Rita,
Thanks for providing access.
I managed to set a password successfully, but I can’t login to your site. It keeps redirecting to WordPress.com when I try to reach wp-admin and when I visit the site domain it asks for a password.
Cheers,
George
Added you. I’m learning this as I go so you will have to help me a bit.
I’ll enable the debugging and send you temp admin credentials. Thanks so much George.
Hi Rita,
Obviously this is no normal behavior for the plugin.
I would recommend you to enable debugging and see what is logged in the debug.log file. There is probably a conflict between Groups and another plugin you are using. Once you enable debugging, you can post your findings here for further investigation.
Furthermore, if you can provide access to your site( live site or staging) I can also have a look myself into this. You can send me temp admin credentials to george@itthinx.com.
Kind regards,
George
