Hi, just bought Affiliates Pro and wanted to translate the plugin.
We use Loco Translate but it’s only giving me 5 strings to translate. Do you have a PO available? Or any other help?

That’s good Kathleen, I think that the issue with email persists only between your and my address, I’ll try again and let you know.
As for the translations, they look good and even though you can’t see the translated string for Profile, it’s there correctly in the translation files.
In other words your part is correct, whereas on our side, we need to adjust the way that translations are loaded. I would recommend you to proceed with your translations and let me know when they are prepared, while we’ll be preparing an update for the plugin.

That’s correct, the translation files might have the same name but are placed in two different locations, so you won’t have a problem with that.
affiliates-pro/lib/core/translations/affiliates-nl_NL.po
affiliates-pro/lib/core/translations/affiliates-nl_NL.mo
and
affiliates-pro/lib/ext/translations/affiliates-nl_NL.po
affiliates-pro/lib/ext/translations/affiliates-nl_NL.mo
If you share the files with us, then we can include them in an upcoming update for the plugin, so you won’t have issues after updating. Otherwise, if you choose to keep them only for your install, then better keep a local backup for all 4 files I mentioned. This way you can add them again after a plugin update.

So I translated both but they are named the same?
Will it be affected after an update? This way of translating takes a lot more time then with the use of LocoTranslate.

Thanks for sharing, your translation file works after renaming and generating a mo file.
The filename should be affiliates-nl_NL.po and once you’re done with the translations, while still in poedit, go to File > Compile to MO, which will generate the equivalent *.mo file. Both .po and .mo files should be placed in languages folder for the translation to be loaded.
Furthermore, the Affiliates Pro plugin has two translation files, the one you shared and the other one located in lib/core/languages folder. In order to have the extension full in Dutch, then you also need to translate this file as well.

Can you please share what have you done so far? Have you prepared the .po and .mo files?
If the translation is still not loaded and despite using Dutch as your site language, you still see Affiliates Pro in English, then the language code used in the filename might not be correct.
Perhaps I can offer to try it locally once you send me a copy of your .po and .mo files to george at itthinx dot com.

I tried doing what you said but Dutch is not in there yet. And what I did does not seem to work.
I would love to translate and keep it up to date. Help says to contact you…

The translation files for the plugin are located under languages folders found in:
affiliates/lib/core/languages/affiliates.pot
affiliates/lib/ext/languages/affiliates-pro.pot

Please also make sure to have a look at the existing po, mo files in the aforementioned paths, in case the translation you’re looking for is already there.
