The Events Calendar – Shows Events that it should not

Hi there, I hope you can help.

I have used Restrict Categories on this but it happens on the standard Groups plugin too.
I have two groups – Lead and Partner – Lead can see Partner events, Partner cannot see Lead Events.
If I log in as Lead and go to the main events calendar view, it shows all events – great, this is what I want.
Then, if I log in as Partner and go to the same page, it still shows all events – this is not what I want.

I have done some testing on Firefox and Chrome as well as moving the website to a testing server so I can’t see that it would be a caching issue.

The weird thing is that if I save permalinks (ie. rebuild the .htaccess file) and go back to the events page, the correct events show for Partner.

I’m confused. Loving the plugin though!

  1. Hi Dan,

Welcome to our support forum and many thanks for using Groups plugin for restricting your content, I’m glad you enjoy using our plugin.

Based on your description you should use the following setup in order to apply the desired restrictions:

Events that should be accessed only by Lead group users, should be restricted to the Lead group only.

Events that should be accessed by Lead and Partner groups users, should be restricted to the Partner group only.

These groups restrictions should also be used for Events categories, as long as the Event Category is enabled in Groups > Restrict Categories under the Taxonomy section.

Members of the Lead group should also be members of the Partners group.

Members of the Partner group should be members of that group only.

FYI, you may add your users to a group in bulk if you go to Users > All users, select the desired users and add them to a specific group as described in the plugin documentation under Bulk actions.

    Kind regards,
    George
