Registering for the site and registering for the affiliate program. Please explain.

I am using Affiliates Pro for WooCommerce. If a person wants to sign up for my affiliate program, do they need to be a registered user of my site first or can they sign up only for the affiliate program alone? If so, how do they access/sign-in to their affiliate page?

The automatically generated affiliate page says “Please log in to access the affiliate area” so it sounds like they MUST be a registered site user first, correct? Thanks.

    There are basically three ways they can sign up:

    1. An affiliate registers on the standard affiliate registration form that the system provides. This creates an affiliate entry and a new user account.
    2. An existing user wants to join the affiliate program. This is also handled through the standard affiliate registration form, a new affiliate entry is created and linked to the existing user’s account.
    3. You add an affiliate manually through the Affiliates > Manage Affiliates section. This entry can be left without a user account, or linked to an existing account.
