Refferal not recording
—
by
Hi,
I’m busy configuring the plug-in, while it does record the visits and hits it unfortunately doesn’t record the refferals.
I’ve checked if the wp_affiliate cookie is carried over through the order proces but unfortunately no luck.
Could you check this please?
Thank you.

Hey Roy,
Sure we can check, once you provide us with temp admin access to a staging copy or a version that is not running live at the moment. You may create a temp admin account for my personal email address, george at itthinx dot com.
Also, please make sure to enable WP debugging for the installation you’ll provide us access to.
Kind regards,
George
Hi George,
I’ve done all of this but unfortunately it still doesn’t work. I can see the wp_affiliate cookie throughout the process and after the checkout it’s still there with the correct affiliate id.
In my Litespeed caching plug-in i’ve excluded all the links with the parameter from page optimization and caching but it still doesn’t work. There is still server-side caching but since the cookie is carried i don’t think this would be the issue.
Please advise further. Could you check the configuration and test the process?
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Roy van Hees
Hi Robin,
Welcome to our support forum for Affiliates Pro plugin.
Normally, when there are visits and hits recorded for an affiliate, then the cookie persists on the browser. However, you can confirm this again, if you look for a stored cookie on your browser named wp_affiliates where its value will be the affiliate id. Detailed instructions for finding stored cookies for each browser, can be found here: https://www.cookieyes.com/blog/how-to-check-cookies-on-your-website-manually/.
If the affiliate cookie is nowhere to be found, then you should also check the Troubleshooting section we keep in the plugin documentation for possible solutions.
Assuming that the cookie is indeed stored, then please make sure that the Affiliates WooCommerce integration is also installed/activated on your site and at least a generic rate is set under Affiliates > Rates.
Once you’re done with the aforementioned steps, proceed with the following test:
1. Copy the URL of a valid and active affiliate.
2. Open a new/different browser window, other than the one you are viewing your Dashboard and visit the affiliate URL*.
3. Proceed with making a purchase.
4. Return to your Dashboard and mark the order as Completed.
5. Visit Affiliates > Referrals and check if the referral exists.
Did you get a referral recorded this way?
Once this test is successful, we can provide further instructions on how to fine-tune the Affiliates setup according to your requirements.
*Please note that step 2 is important because by default your affiliates cannot refer themselves(there’s an option for this to make it possible though), that’s why you need to use a different browser and make a purchase on your shop.
Kind regards,
George
