redirect affiliate link
—
by
Hi,
I have an affiliate who was deleted from our list of affiliates mistakenly. She has re-registered, but her original affiliate URL is already in use. I tried using a 301 redirect to send her old URL to her new Affiliate URL that was generated when she reregistered, but that does not seem to be working.
Can you recommend a solution?

Hi Anthony,
Thank you for your help.
I looked at both tables and you are correct that they don’t match. This particular affiliate is not listed in the second table “wp_aff_affiliates_users”.
I am looking at the table via phpmyadmin in our cPanel, and I don’t see an an option to add a line to enter that info.
Any suggestions?
You could create the affiliate in Affiliates->Manager Affiliates using an ‘username’ of a wordpress user already created.
In your phpmyadmin you should have ‘Insert’ in the top horizontal menu (when you are viewing the table data).
cheers
ok. i went ahead and did this, but now when i log in using her credentials to test, i get redirected to the “affiliate sign up” page. The log in info is accepted as a regular wp user, but not for the affiliate area.
i would go ahead and create a new user and change the aff id in the wp_aff_affiliates table, but the problem with that is when i delete someone whose email address has already been in the system, they do not get the new affiliate registration email with the password in it. so, i would have a user with no way to access the account because we don’t know their password.
You could restart the password in the wordpress user profile page.
There are two tables in the database with information about the affiliate account:
wp_aff_affiliates : when you can set the status.
wp_aff_affiliates_users: relating to affiliate with an existing user
Maybe there isn’t an row in this second table, so your wp user is not an affiliate.
cheers
Hi,
you could update the “deleted” affiliate status from ‘deleted’ to ‘active’ directly in the database: wp_aff_affiliates table. So you can still use the original links.
