questions about affiliate page

My web guy advised me to forward these questions to the support team:

For below questions >> pls contact plugin support folks >> its their product related issues …

Please advise what each link is for:
URL
Embed link
(both go to the home page)

*On the totals page, there is a Payments tab, what is this? How does it work?

*Do we need to accept the referrals?

*How is the amount calculated on the referrals?

*The coupon code should populate on the email that is sent to the affiliate when they sign up so they can share it. The url’s that are provided do not contain the coupon code.

*The coupon code that populates has an expiration date. There should not be an expiration date on the coupon for the affiliate.

*When I made a sale using my code, then logged into the affiliate area, the sale does not reflect in my Performance, (referral/sale).

Number of sales referred

Accepted referrals pending payment: 0

  1. Hi Harold,

If you delete User and Affiliate record, their mail will be usable again.

Visits, is the number your webpage has been accessed.
Hits, is the number of requests for web page elements your website fulfilled. Page elements can be anything, CSS files, images etc.

    Cheers.

  2. Hello,
Can you advise what the difference is between a “hit” and a “visit”?

  3. Is there a way to delete a user and then reuse the email?
We were testing the site and I would like to know if we add an affiliate and then delete them, can that email be reused later? At this moment it is telling me the email is already signed up. I am thinking there are cookies or something that I need to clear out.
    Please advise.

    1. I found a section on the website, under users that still had the users listed. I have deleted the users that were used for testing/setup. Is there anywhere else we need to clear out?

  4. Hi Harold,

All the supported tokens for email notifications are the ones on this link, it is the link i mentioned in my previous comment. The shortcode you used is intended to be used in a page.

Coupons are managed by your e-commerce plugin. For example if you are using WooCommerce, there are options to restrict a coupon under WooCommerce>Coupon edit coupon. If these don’t match your plans, then you should use another plugin for that. Affiliates plugins simply use coupons to provide affiliates another way of promoting themselves apart from links and banners.

    Cheers

  5. I tried to ad the short code for the coupon. Now my email looks like this:

Welcome to The DipStick Family! Username: swiney710
    Password: CNG3jaEqqwHb
    https://www.thedipstick.com/affiliate-area/
    Coupon: [affiliates_affiliate_profile show_attributes="coupons"]

Is there a way to get the coupon code to populate on the new affiliate registration email that includes their user name and password.?

  6. Thank you George,
can you also advise if there is a way to change the default discount amount that I set up with the coupon. Right now when an affiliate signs up a 10% discount coupon is created. We would like to change this amount without manually editing the coupon every time if possible
    Thank you,

  7. Hi Harold,

URL is how the affiliate link looks like, it can be shared by your affiliates and if followed by a user it can end up to a referral.
Embed link is an example on how you can embed an affiliate link in text.
Also, you can turn any link on your site into an affiliate link with the shortcode [affiliates_url]http://www.example.com/somepage[/affiliates_url], or with the shortcode [affiliates_generate_url] where your affiliates can create themselves their affiliate links. Both shortcodes should be placed in the Affiliates Area page, or the page you choose to use as an affiliate area.

Mass Payment File button exports a file with the affiliates payments, which you can import in PayPal and pay your affiliates simultaneously.

Changing a referral status from pending to accepted, can be when you reviewed a referral and decide to accept it. It is a flag which can help you filter referrals. You can even choose to reject a referral based on the terms and conditions you choose for your affiliate program. Also, you can change the default status for all your referrals in Affiliates>Settings>Referrals.

The calculated amount depends on the Commission type you choose under Affiliates>Settings>Commissions. You can find more info on commissions in the documentation.

Although there is no notification token to render a coupon code in affiliates notifications, still you can render coupon codes by using the shortcode [affiliates_affiliate_profile show_attributes="coupons"] in your Affiliate Area page.

Coupons are managed by the e-commerce plugin you use. There you can set the expiration and usage limits if supported. If you haven’t already, you should also install the e-commerce integration for affiliates. A list of supported integrations can be found here and can be installed for free through Affiliates>Settings>Integrations. This is probably the reason why you haven’t noticed anything under the statistics.

    Kind regards,
    George
