Presale question

I need to know if this will work for what I need prior to renewing Affiliates Pro.

I installed your free version and trying a snippet of code you suggesting in your forum.

https://github.com/eggemplo/Affiliates-Utilities/blob/master/affiliates-popup.php

This may solve my issue. I will repurchase if I know that you can help me with this. I want to show the referring affiliate info to the new affiliate who signed up so that they can communicate. Also, can this info be included in the welcome email to the affiliate?

Simply tell me, if you can help me or not and I will order.

Thank you,

Scott

  1. Hey Scott you’re welcome.

  2. Hi Scott,

FIY, I have updated an addon for notification tokens and you can retrieve it here.
The tokens you probably need to add to your notification template are:
[referring_affiliate_phone] Displays the phone number of the referring affiliate
[referring_affiliate_email] Displays the email address of the referring affiliate
[referring_affiliate_first_name] Displays the first name of the referring affiliate
[referring_affiliate_last_name] Displays the last name of the referring affiliate

Regarding the login process whether it is an affiliate or a user or a customer, they all use their user account to login as it is unique. The affiliate account is some extra data -to put it simply- kept for some users that choose to become affiliates. WooCommerce treats all users as customers/potential customers and therefore will redirect a successful login to the my-account page. On the other hand if your affiliates use the login form provided either in the Affiliate area page or Affiliates Dashboard page, they will not be redirected. Therefore, the best option would be to share the links to these pages to your affiliates.

    Kind regards,
    George

    1. Thank you George

  3. Hey Scott,

FYI, as I mentioned the shortcodes displaying referrer info should be placed in a page that is not cached. Even if you clear the cache you might see the right results once, but when the page is recached, then the results will fail. The best option would be to exclude the containing page from caching.

These tokens aka [affiliate_email] and [affiliate_phone] won’t work for new affiliate registration notifications but only for new referral notifications. In order to display referrer information for new affiliate registration notifications, I need to check for a custom solution.

Let me have another look but if you’re using a cache solution on your site, then it’s better to exclude the page containing referrer related shortcodes.

    Kind regards,
    George

    1. You were correct about caching… I thought you were wanting me to delete caching on my browser. I am now trying to figure out how to disable caching on a specific page on my website.

A big thank you if you are able to create a custom solution.

      Scott

    2. When affiliates log in, there are going to the woocommerce user page to view login information.

How can I change it to point to the affiliate-area?

Also, have you found a custom solution yet for passing referrer information into the email?

  4. Hi Scott,

    You’re welcome.

Indeed if you’re seeing a cached version of the page, then it’s better to clear the contents of the cache in order to see the newest version.
Regarding notifications, you can only use tokens which are described here and are related to registration notifications. The referrer info is not supported in registration notifications but let me have a look for a custom solution you can use.

    Kind regards,
    George

    1. I logged in as an affiliate on a different computer that never has been to the site. It does not show the information for the shortcodes for the referrer.

Can you take another look for me?

      Thanks

    2. I have spent hours trying to figure out why notifications shortcodes are not showing the information I need in the affiliates area. http://graceonfire.net/affiliate-area

Also, token information does no show referrer in the email notifications.

      Welcome aboard!
This is your login information. Go to: [site_login_url]
      Username: [username]
      Password: [password]

The above email token information works but if adding the following to the email, it does not work.

Here is their information: [affiliate_name] : The referring member’s name.
      [affiliate_email] : The referring member’s email address.
      [affiliate_phone] : The referring member’s phone.

It does not pull up referrer information.

Also, it never triggers and sends out Referral Notifications email to the referring affiliate when someone signs up.

  5. I did something wrong, now I don’t see anything as a logged-in affiliate on the affiliate member page.

Discovered my past issue was the cache.

    Scott

    1. email notifications as well…

Here is their information: [affiliate_name] : The referring member’s name.
      [affiliate_email] : The referring member’s email address.
      [affiliate_phone] : The referring member’s phone.

  6. Thank you very much for your help.

How do I make it so a person does not see all the shortcode info when they go to the registration page to sign up. This will work but it would be clean and less confusing for a visitor who is thinking of signing up.

  7. Hey Scott,

You’re welcome thanks for providing access, I took your credentials from my colleague Eugen.

You had some typos in the affiliate area page ie Referral instead of referral and the quotes used where the wrong ones, as you need to add the doublequote character ” and not the quote symbol. It might have even be converted by Gutenberg but after my edit it is using the correct character and works properly.
The only thing missing is the notification token as by mistake I recommended you to use [affiliate_email] token but this one works only for new referral notifications and not new affiliate registration notifications.

Please use an affiliate link and open the Affiliates Area page to see the info related to the referring affiliate.

    Kind regards,
    George

  8. Hi Scott,

Thanks for reaching us and for using our products – yes it can be done.

There is a block of shortcodes you can use which will display info for the referring affiliate. If you add this in a page:

    [affiliates_is_referred]
You have been referred by [referrer display="email"].
    [/affiliates_is_referred]

It will display the email of the referring affiliate if applicable. Please also note that the page containing the above should not be cached.

Something similar applies to the notification email sent to the new affiliate. If you use the token [affiliate_email] in the notification template, it will display the same thing so that they can communicate.

FYI, the snippet you mentioned is probably not suitable in this situation since it will display the user login for the new affiliate so it is not related to the referring affiliate.

    Kind regards,
    George

    1. Thanks, George,

I placed it in the bottom of the page at https://graceonfire.net/affiliate-area/
and logged in as an affiliate.

It shows blank where the info is supposed to show up

I emailed admin login info to eugen at itthinx at com

Affiliate is ***** same password as the one sent you.
