Plugin Customisation
—
by
Hi George,
Thank you for your response. I have checked with my developer and I don’t think the core plugin has been modified in any way so I will go ahead and do as you suggest.
Further to your previous email where you said the following:
“First, you need to somehow distinguish the simple products added by you from the products coming from the feed. Also, you need to somehow distinguish the external affiliate for each product so that you can adjust the variable for that factor. Furthermore, and since the commission depends also on the company where the product comes from, you need to also check it in your formula”?.
It seems you understood my objective and so I wanted to ask if my requirements can be met by further enhancements to your plugin. I understand that I would be required to pay for the development time. If this level of customisation is possible, I would ask that you provide an estimate for the development work involved.
Regards
Chris

Hi Chris,
This product though is a simple Product and not an External/Affiliate product which means that at least one requirement will fail.
Ok the attributes are there, but if we can’t distinguish whether this is an external/affiliate product or a simple product, this conditional will fail. Especially if the Network, Merchant and Brand attributes are not unique for external products but are also used in simple products.
Each time a new referral is recorded, the commission calculation will be done for this specific new referral and therefore this wouldn’t affect the old already recorded referrals.
However, if the commission of the external affiliate is not stored on your site, then you will end up adding referrals manually. IMO the main purpose here would be to automate the whole process and avoid adding values or doing calculations manually but since the external affiliate’s commission is not stored, it won’t be possible to retrieve it and use it for further calculations which means that you end up with adding referrals manually.
Kind regards,
George
Hi George,
Thank you for your email.
The products that come from the feed are identified by the Product data type of External/Affiliate product on the Products page here https://sixdeep.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=4003&action=edit
Also on the products page you will see an attributes section to the left which if clicked, will show Network, Merchant and Brand that relates to that specific product. Network relates to the external affiliate network that I belong to. Merchant relates to the external affiliate that is selling the product as does Brand although Brand seems to show the Merchants URL.
Also on this page you will see the product URL which will look something like this https://www.awin1.com/pclick.php?p=24193321353&a=175051&m=10011
What isn’t shown
——————–
We don’t have a field where we can enter the commission paid by a merchant. We will need to keep in mind that this commission might change and if it does, the old commission value will need to apply for orders up until the time the new commission value is entered.
We will need to enter the commission value that the external affiliate pays and then enter the values in the tier commission setup based on what we want each level to earn down 6 levels/tiers.
Please advise further.

Chris
Hi Chris,
You’re welcome.
Indeed this would require a custom implementation and should you choose us to implement, further details are required in order to provide a proper cost estimate.
As I mentioned we need to get the additional info for the products that come from the feed and these are:
1. which products come from the feed
2. if the external affiliate is declared for each of these products
3. if the product company is declared for each of these products
These details might or might not be stored for the feed products as this would also depend on how they are stored in your database.
Kind regards,
George
