PayPal integration not registering referrals

I have installed Affiliates Pro and the PayPal add-on. I simply want to track referrals and sales using PayPal buttons. I set up PayPal and the add-on per the documentation. I created a button and used the shortcode wrapper. I manually entered an affiliate and went to a completely different browser to test it. I used an affiliate url to visit a page with the PayPal button on it: http://juleehuston.com/tester/?partners=3/ (I wanted to test the PayPal button on the page http://juleehuston.com/tester).

I was able to purchase the product but the referral is not being recorded for the affiliate. I also looked at the cookies in Chrome and I can not see a wp_affiliates cookie listed (read about this elsewhere in the forum). When I look in PayPal under the IPN history, it shows both of my test as being sent. Any ideas what is going wrong? Did I for the affiliate URL incorrectly (I couldn’t see any documentation how to create URLs for specific pages)?

  1. Perhaps you should let us have a look, if it’s possible send your admin credentials to support at itthinx dot com.
Don’t forget to include a link to this topic and make sure to have a full backup of your site if it is a live site.

  2. Using that link did not work — the referral is still not registering.

    Hi Julee,

You can try using http://juleehuston.com/tester?partners=3. If you have noticed at the Dashboard under Affiliates>Manage Affiliates the affiliates links don’t have a slash before the affiliate URL parameter.
You can test it and post a comment here about the results.

    Kind regards,
    George
