Paying commission without integrating

A referrer refers a user (potential buyer)
A user later buys a product let’s say property. Referrers commission will be set at time of user’s purchase.
Depending on the negotiated selling price. Can the plugin handle both the commission and sales amount to be entered manually at the time of purchase?

  1. Hey Michael,

That’s great, I’m glad it works for you.

Regarding colours this is probably related to overlapping CSS rules by your active theme I guess, but if you share access credentials for an active affiliate, I can have a look at your affiliate area page and give you more solid advice on how to fix this. You may send the credentials to george at itthinx dot com, mentioning this topic title in the subject.

    Kind regards,
    George

Thank you very much George, it worked!

    Another issue.
In the affiliate area, the text and certain graphs are nearly invisible.
It’s almost the same color as the background, which is white.
How do we change the colors?

  3. Hi Michael,

FYI, the form that needs to be submitted has to do only with tracking the action so that you know when a customer has visited a product or something similar and with the submission you can track that interest.

Since you have decided to track only referred users, then go to Affiliates > User Registration and check the option to Enable the user registration integration. The rest of the setup can be found in the dedicated documentation page here:
    https://docs.itthinx.com/document/affiliates-pro/user-registration/
but normally you shouldn’t need anything else in order to track referred user registrations.

Each referred user registration will be tracked when a visitor uses the default WP user registration form, so your plugin Fluent Forms Pro is not related or involved in this process.

Please make sure to check the documentation page I’ve mentioned and proceed with your tests.

    Kind regards,
    George

Can you please elaborate on this setup you mentioned?

“ such a form can only have a submit button and when the referred user hits it, the referral will be recorded. The rate for this commission can be a flat amount rate of ie 1 which can be adjusted later on through your Dashboard under Affiliates > Referrals.”

We still do not understand why
User A referred by affiliate B has to fill out a form and press submit in order to be a user. Why is that in pressing the submit button, a referral is not recorded?

Please elaborate on what we need to do to track who referred each user.

Again, all we need is to track who referred which user. In other words each and every user needs to be tracked to the referrer.

To add to our most recent questions.
We just need to track referrals. Not sales, since sales will be done outside and commission paid outside the website. There will be no integration with any plugin like Woocommerce etc,
How to setup so that Affiliate Pro just track referrals. Currently the plugin does not track. It only shows number of visits. B signs up as a user via A’s affiliate link. It does not track A as B’s referrer. We need to know how to setup.

We have user A signed up as an affiliate.

User A sends user B his affiliate link.
    (Copy pasted at affiliate area)

User B clicks on the link, visit site and signed in as user.

User A goes to affiliate area, only can see visits. No referrals.

We as an admit goes to affiliate > referrals but we cannot see any referrals and cannot track who referred user B.

    Are we missing something?

Please give step by step instructions to be able track B as a user referred by A.

    Thank you.

  8. Hi Michael,

In general you need more than one tools to cover your use-case and this is how WordPress as a platform works. The CMS itself is a plain website and by using plugins, you can extend the basic functionality according to your needs. When you like to sell something online, you need an e-commerce tool and when you need to display forms to your users you need a Form plugin. Accordingly, since you need to track referred sales, you need an affiliates tool like Affiliates Pro.

So in order to record sales either manually or by allowing your visitors to make a purchase you need an e-commerce tool like WooCommerce or use a Form plugin that supports e-commerce features. For sales that are placed online, you can track the referrals with Affiliates Pro and give a commission to the referring affiliate according to the rate that is set and applies for this referral. Whether you choose to modify that commission amount afterwards, it’s up to you and can be done by editing the related Referral entry. For sales that are placed offline, you have the option to either add them manually to your e-commerce tool or not but also make sure to find the correct affiliate involved in this sale and add a Referral manually using the commission that you wish to grant.

However, please note that if you don’t choose to keep data of your sales then you can avoid using an e-commerce system and only place Referrals manually.

    Referrals Description:
    https://docs.itthinx.com/document/affiliates-pro/affiliate-program-management/managing-referrals/

The form I recommended would be used to track the action only, the referral will be tracked by Affiliates Pro and will be visible to each affiliate once they visit the Affiliates Dashboard page( as it happens for all referrals and other statistics ) which is a dedicated page in the front-end.

As for referred user registrations, you can indeed track that back to the referring affiliate, the data can be found in Affiliates > Referrals.

    Kind regards,
    George

    We understand that
If a user follow the affiliate link and joins our website as a user.
The user will be recorded as sent by the affiliate.

Then, at a later date, when the user makes a purchase, we would like to be able to trace who is the affiliate that referred the user then give commission to the affiliate.
    QUESTION#1
Can it be done by searching the user back to the affiliate?

We would like to use the Affiliate Pro plugin because by using the plugin affiliate will be able to know their performance and see they are sending users to our website.

If using just a form, affiliates will not be able to see their performance.

We don’t mind recording the sales manually. We can make that part secure on our side.
    QUESTION #2
We want to know if it is possible to record the sale manually and record the commission manually once there is a sale outside the website. That is also what we need to know. And how is it done. Thank you.

We would like to be able to
    1. Just record referrals without setting any commission percentages.

    2. Be able to add commission manually until we pay the commission then close the position.
(We will not be integrating the Affiliate Pro plugin with any plugins)

We are using Affiliate Pro and not just a simple form because we need referrer to be able to see their performance and see how many users has joined under them.

If it were for a business like a bank.
Which goal is to have affiliates help the bank increase deposits in several currencies.

    For example USD EUR CAD

    Commission rates =
1%x deposit amount for 1 year deposit.

4%x deposit amount for 5 years
    deposit.

8%x deposit amount for 10 years deposit.

As you can see the deposit amount is not fixed plus deposit can come in many forms.

Please also advise what are the risk you mentioned.

Will a signup as a user trigger a referral?

The amount will not be manipulated by anyone in the company. Plus an off line copy of the deposit will be created as well.

Please advise what you have mentioned regarding risk?

  11. Hi Michael,

Welcome to our support channel and many thanks for using Affiliate Pro plugin on your site.

In general, in order to track and record a referral, an action needs to take place by the referred user which will trigger the referral process. After all the main purpose of using such tools is to automate staff and avoid revisions as much as possible. If on the other hand there is no action submitted then you will have to check all the leads on your site, decide which one was a successful sale and then create the referral for it.

Since this process involves plenty of manual intervention and risk from your side, I would recommend you to revise that decision and perhaps use only a form which can be submitted by the user and mark a successful sale. Later on you have to decide only for the commission to be granted. In this case such a form can only have a submit button and when the referred user hits it, the referral will be recorded. The rate for this commission can be a flat amount rate of ie 1 which can be adjusted later on through your Dashboard under Affiliates > Referrals.

As for the form itself, you can use a simple plugin like Contact Form 7, which has a simple setup, and through its integration with our system, you will make the referral recording process much easier.

Regarding the sale price what are your current plans to show and decide when will this price be defined and by whom? The Affiliates plugin allows you to track referrals, edit them after being recorded and adjust the commission. However, the sale price should be first of all be notified to the user making the purchase, what is your setup regarding this topic?

    Kind regards,
    George
