Multiple Websites Using Same Affiliates?

I have Affiliates Pro and Contact Form 7 Integration currently installed on http://newnordicpattaya.com

Everything works fine as expected. But i have a question regarding using the same Affiliates across several websites, i don’t mind paying for additional licenses if its needed, but, thats not really the issue or question.

We are planning on building several other websites very similar to http://newnordicpattaya.com which we would like to also use the affiliate system on.

There will be the following websites being build which we want to all use the same affiliates with;

http://newnordicphuket.com
http://newnordicchompon.com
http://newnordicgroup.com
http://newnordicsamui.com

There will likely be lots more sites created which will be the same and which will all link to one another.

Our concerns are,

1. Is it possible to use the same affiliates across all websites we install affiliate pro on? We are concerned that visitors will be clicking through from one New Nordic website to the other, and we will lose track of where the initial traffic and source was coming from.

2. http://newnordicgroup.com isn’t a wordpress website. What happens when a visitor comes onto our http://newnordicpattaya.com website via an affiliate link, then they click through to http://newnordicgroup.com and then they continue onto, for example http://newnordicsamui.com website and then they proceed to use the enquiry form. How will we track this?

We need to credit whichever affiliate initially sent a user to one of the New Nordic websites. We need to retain this regardless of which New Nordic website they cross over too.

They will all be heavily linked to one another so its important that regardless of which site they move onto, the original affiliate will will credited when there is an enquiry made. Regardless of which site they end up on.

I hope i have explained myself clearly enough. Please get back to me if you don’t understand my issue.

Thanks for your time,

Ben

  1. Hi Ben,

Another option you can use is to create a network of sites, a WordPress MS.
That way and if you install Affiliates MS plugin, you can track referrals on your network.

To be more specific, with Affiliates MS plugin, you set a target site running your Affiliates plugin and Gravity Forms plugin. Once there is a visitor referred to any of your network sites and this visitor fills the form in the target site, the referring affiliate will be credited with a referral and a commission.

  2. Hi George,

Thanks for getting back to me.

At the moment yes, i’m adding new affiliates manually.

From what i can tell from your response, what i’m asking cant be done with my current setup using this software.

Guess i will have to look around for another solution or have something custom built to do it. If its possible?

So, just to recap. Its not possible to track affiliates moving across different websites? The approach you suggested just wouldnt work im afraid.

    For examlple

    I send a user to http://newnordicpattaya.com/ref?=23

    Thats my referral user

They Click a Banner which had an affiliate code used throughout that nordicpattaya site.

The link they clicked takes them to http://newnordicsamui.com/ref?=28

The continue to make an enquiry on the contact form on newnordicsamui.com and ref?=28 is credited with the referral.

The original affiliate who sent the user to http://newnordicpattaya.com/ref?=23 will not be able to track this as everyone who visits nordicpattaya site and clicks the same banner will be given the same referral.

I cant see how this can work.

    Maybe it cant be done.

Thanks for getting back to me.

  3. Hi Ben,

Each Affiliate plugin installation is a standalone affiliate program. So, when an affiliate refers a new user that fills-in the gravity form, the affiliate will be credited for this referral, on the site that keeps the form.

If your affiliates list is fixed, meaning that you don’t allow new affiliate registrations, you can manually add this list across all your sites, directly into the database. I wouldn’t recommend it though.
Even if you have the same list of affiliates across all your sites, each site will record its own referrals, the way i explained you above since each installation is a standalone.

The non-WordPress site will not be able to track referrals, but you can use it to promote your affiliates links or banners for your other sites.
This applies to the rest of your sites. Each site can contain links/ banners to your other sites, but the referral will be credited on the site that the affiliate link/ banner belongs to.

Hope these are clear enough, but if you have further questions, you ask here for further explanations.

    Kind regards,
    George
