Link

Hello Affiliates Pro Support:

Is the following the correct way to include an affiliate link? We are trying to track Facebook ads along with Analytics, so we are using UTM parameters in the link also. Please advise.

…/product/glue/?attribute_pa_size=6-oz&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=ads&utm_campaign=remarketing&aid=3

Thanks in advance for you help in this matter,

Troy

  1. No, not working. The parameters are current. Only recording one hit here one hit there. Please advise. Thanks in advance for your help.

    1. Hi Philip,
Can you send me screenshots with the data you are checking to antonio[at]itthinx[dot]com ? Please send me FA, GA and Affiliates data, so I can compare them.
      Thanks,
      Antonio B.

  2. Ok. I had “Redirect” enabled. I disabled it. Lets see what happens; however, this does not explain referrals, FB and GA stats are accounting for much higher referrals than AP. Please advise. Thanks.

    1. Perfect,
Thinking about the problem of referrals, could it be that you have affiliates using an old parameter? and that’s why they do not register.
      Kind Regards,
      Antonio B.

  3. Ok. great. thanks for your prompt response. We changed our affiliate id. Our affiliate id is: aid=3 So, according to your comment, it looks like the way we did it is correct. The only weird thing is that our affiliate clicks and sales do not match Google Analytics or Facebook Statistics. GA and Facebook match closely, but Affiliates Pro is way off. Why would that be?

    Thanks again,

    Troy

    1. Hi,
Remember that visits indicate distinct IPs, but hits should be near to GA. Maybe if you page have a redirection, GA and Facebook counts the visits as two, and Affiliates as one, because only the first one comes from an affiliate. Please check if you have enable the ‘Redirect’ option from Affiliates->Settings:General, maybe disabling this option the numbers are closer.
      Kind Regards,
      Antonio B.

  4. Hi Troy,
If this is the link that you want to share (with the Facebook ads params), when you use this link with the [affiliates_url] shortcode, your affiliate's param will be added at the end, something like: .../product/glue/?attribute_pa_size=6-oz&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=ads&utm_campaign=remarketing&aid=3&affiliates=xxx if 'affiliates' is the param name that you use (you can change this param name from Affiliates->Settings:General). So when an affiliate visits his affiliate-area page, the xxx in the url will be changed by her ID.
    Kind Regards,
    Antonio B.
