link formatting

in backend it says this affiliate is:

Link: http://www.remotestylist.com?rsa=60
URL Parameter: ?rsa=60
Pretty: http://www.remotestylist.com/rsa/60

so if this was link
http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=997277

and i want to add affiliate tracking it becomes
http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=997277?rsa=60

please confirm

  1. Ok and the comment above — i don’t see it working on any page … add this is back but shouldn’t it show RSA in links?

    1. Hi,
please send us dashboard admin access to support at itthinx dot com to have a look (worked fine the other day).
      cheers

  2. sorry one more thing – is this supposed to be either or and not both?

    Affiliates integration

    1. Integrate with the Affiliates plugin (a valid Affiliates plugin is active).

    2. Integrate with the AddThis plugin (the AddThis plugin is active).

    1. Hi,
      you need have selected both.
      cheers

  3. I don’t see the affiliates share add this working properly on any page …. can you please look again and advise

  4. they are there now – can you check (you may have to be logged into your own wishlist – you still have affiliate status)

    1. Hi, it seems your whishlist plugin is not compatible with Affiliates Share. I have tested posts/pages and products, and all works fine except the lists.
      cheers

  5. k we’ve got 2 tickets with same thing this being other http://www.itthinx.com/topic/automatic-tracking/#comments

    something isn’t working then…

an affiliate did these looks of products on boards
    Wishlist URL: http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=998838

I see the shortcode but there is no &rsa=xx automatically appended.

We have the affiliates share plugin configured via add this. however
when you share say the first one via twitter its the SAME link ie
Shop the Look via @remotestylist http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=998850

the woocommerce wishlist however is driving this…wondering if their share has taken over from add this? it won’t work with woocommerce wishlsits will it?

    1. Hi,
sorry I don’t know you were talking about Affiliates Share.
On Affiliates Share menu, you must have selected “Integrate with the Affiliates plugin (a valid Affiliates plugin is active).” (I have selected it)
In your wishlist http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=998838 , AddThis is not showed, the social icons are not added by addthis (maybe by the theme). As you can see for example http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/find-a-list/welcome/ the AddThis social icons are diferent.

With the option “Integrate with the Affiliates….” selected, if you try “Wellcome” whishlist, you can see that “rsa” parameter is added if you are an affiliate.

Sorry, but I don’t know why AddThis is not added in your wishlist.

      cheers

      1. look now – the add this menu on butnot working
        http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=998838#.

      2. here is example http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=998858

with affiliate share/add this plugin configured. i don’t see any rsa=Xx

can you check it and resolve

        1. Hi,
in this url there isn’t AddThis icons.
          cheers

  6. but then we are MANUALLY Adding that &rsa=XX to the end? that’s what people will not do — that’s what im asking – can that be automatic?

    1. Yes, that’s what the Affiliates Share plugin does when they share.

  7. ok so then

    Wishlist URL: http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=1000393

    Wishlist URL: http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=998838

are correct and link back to same affiliate?

    1. Hi,
[affiliates_url] appends the affiliates parameter to the url. Your url should look like http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=1000393&rsa=XX if "rsa" is your affiliates parameter.
      If you use:
      http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=1000393&rsa=XX
      http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=998838&rsa=XX
both link back to same affiliate.
      cheers

  8. what short codes ??

ps presuming people know about query strings is grave mistake…we’re looking for solutions that plugin not need extra coding

    1. You can use [affiliates_url] shortcode. In your case:
      [affiliates_url]http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=997277[/affiliates_url]

  9. ugh…but when it shows people their links it doesn’t mention that – can you add that in update

    1. Hi,
using shortcodes, the parameter is added automatically, is the safest way to do it.
Not mention the use of ‘?’ or ‘&’ because this is basic knowledge of query string.
      cheers

  10. Hi,
if the url has another parameter, you must use ‘&’ instead of ‘?’, in your case:
    http://www.remotestylist.com/my-lists/view-a-list/?wlid=997277&rsa=60
    cheers
