Import updated info from live to staging site

I am rebuilding a site that has Affiliate Enterprise. The live site has been taking in affiliates, etc. I need to get the latest data from the live site to import into the staging site right before going live. Is there a way to do this? I need all info, including referrals, etc.

    Hi Melissa,

    You should check the tables starting with a “aff” prefix. If for example your database table prefix is “wp_” then the Affiliates plugin tables should be “wp_aff_*”.

    Thank you. Except we started with a clone and made many changes. If I do a database export/import, do you have a list of tables I would do that with?

    Thanks for reaching support.

    The best way for your case would be to clone the live site which will create an exact replica of your existing site. Although you can export/import affiliates as far as referrals are regarded, there are data saved in a referral like order id which won’t be successfully mapped if the equivalent orders don’t exist on your new site. Also, you could even export the Affiliates plugin-related tables from one database and import them to the new one, but since we are talking about a staging site, then it’s better to clone.

    Furthermore, a cloning process is much quicker as it can even be done through your hosting provider – some providers offer that option or can do the process for you.

    Even if you plan to replicate the live site locally, it’s better to take a copy of the complete site files and database and create the clone.
