How to Use Affiliate By Username

Hi Please Help:

I just installed and activated the affiliate by username plugin on my website.

Seems nothing change.

1. How do I set the way my affiliate links will look like
(I want it to be like this: http://mydomain.com/aff/username)

2. When I paste the shortcode as mention is the plugin documentatin, nothing appear that represent affiliate link. only [affiliate_url] shortcode is work and it didn’t show the link by username.

Please help to guide me step by step on this matter

Thanks

Ali

    Hi Sir,

I already use that method from the beginning but it doesn’t work.

Then sir antonio help me to create the affiliate area using short code affiliate id, but seems it didn’t work anymore.

Can you login to my dashboard and create another temp affiliate area that provide working shortcode so I can follow that example.

    Please

    Ali

    1. Hi,

You were using shortcodes available with Affiliates Pro only which have been removed. The affiliate area is working fine with the shortcode provided through Affiliates by Username.

Make sure to review the documentation on shortcodes before making any changes. Some of the shortcodes are available with Affiliates Pro or Enterprise only.

    Hi Sir,

Thanks, I see the link is working.

How ever in affiliate area it still didn’t display the ‘username’ for the link generated.

    It still display ‘id’

How to let the display link format become like this:
    http://doublestemcell.com.my/join/username

    Not Like this:

    http://doublestemcell.com.my/join/6

    Thanks 🙂

    1. Hi,

You need to wrap it using the plugin’s shortcode, please see Documentation page for details on how to do that under the heading Shortcode usage.

      Cheers

  4. Hi Sir,

It’s again, I just transfer the web before to new domain and server,
suddenly the affiliate by username is not working, just like before.

The temp affiliate area that you help me to create also didn’t show the link rightly.

    Can you help me to:

    1. Create Affiliate page that display the right affiliate link – example: http://doublestemcell.com.my/join/username

    2. Make sure the link is working

    3. Can you explain where are my mistake in running this plugin

    Really need your help Please

    Ali

  5. Another thing sir,

Even though we solve the issue to print the links on the affiliate page.

The links according to that format is still not working, On the website I develop the link should be ‘http://myweb101.com/double_stemcell/aff/aliikhwan’ but using this link it only lead to error ‘404’

    How to solve this?

    1. Please try changing affiliates url parameter (on Affiliates->Options) to another that isn’t a substring of a page (in this case “aff” is a substring of “affiliates-area”, try another like as “asdf”)
      cheers

  6. Wow, how did you do it right? Where’s my mistake?

Also can You answer my question regarding affiliate user plugin, I already set the default status as pending, but seems currently all registration are auto approved as affiliate. Can you please help?

    1. Answered here.

  7. Done please check 🙂

    1. In your case, you need use “aff” instead of “affiliate”, I have created you a “Temp Affiliates Area” page.
      cheers

  8. I still don’t understand. Does it means I need to use affiliate pro in order to use the plugin.

But I see on the description, I can use it even for affiliate plugin only.

    1. No, you can use it with Affiliates free version, for example (if “affiliates” is the url parameter):

      [affiliates_by_username]www.mydomain.com/affiliates/[affiliates_id][/affiliates_by_username]

      1. I already do that, but it dosen’t show username, it just show the id like this http://www.mydomain.com/affiliates/2
        suppose it shows http://www.mydomain.com/affiliates/aliikhwan

If I give you access to admin panel can you help me with this?

        1. Please send us dashboard admin access to support at itthinx dot com (please indicate this comment in the email).
          cheers
