How to do Referral Program like DISH ?
—
by
Hello,
We are wanting to do something a little more robust than the Affiliate PRO plugin gives us. We want to do a “referral program” where a customer if they refer a friend they get a % or dollar amount of THEIR bill up to possibly 5 people. Is this possible somehow or would I have to create this myself? Also will you guys be working on an automiated payments option for affiliates?
Thanks!
Dustin

Hey,
We are still REALLY interested in this referral DISH clone program for our affiliate program. Here’s what we would like to do: Let me know if this is possible or how much it would cost to add this feature in for us?
1. Customer signs up for monthly subscription at a $1 trial for 14 days and used coupon code to bring price from $39.95 to $29.95/mo re-occurring.
2. Customer is automatically enrolled into our affiliate program where they can refer up to 5 people to join and receive $2 off their monthly bill for each referral they get making it a total of $10 off their monthly bill.
** this way we wouldn’t even have to issue pmts to an affiliate. It would all be handled inside woocommerce and just taking money off of their bill.
Let me know if this is doable as we would like to implement this ASAP!

Hi Dustin,
Do you mean you want to give a discount to the customer based on up to 5 referred customers? You could use the User Registration integration to grant them referrals on referred customers, we’d have to find a way to limit it to up to 5, maybe we could add a filter for that.
Yes we have given automated payments a thought, although I still have security concerns for automated payments going off an unaudited site … anyhow, which payment processor would you want to use?
Cheers

kento,
We use Authorize.net and Paypal integrations right now. we may be using stripe in the future, but not sure yet.
As far as the referral program goes….. how does that come off their monthly bill? So lets say a person signs up for $30/mo and then gets 2 people to sign up under them , that customers bill should go to $20.mo if we did $5 per referral.
Would this be able to do this? obviously it would have to stop is the person got to $0/mo 🙂 That’s why we wanted to put a limit on how many people they can refer. haha!
Let me know. I think this could work very well for our application.
Hi Dustin,
I’m Antonio. Really this automatic feature is not implemented. You could create coupons once a month with the referrals value and apply these to the subscriptions.
Related to the limits, maybe using the affiliates_referral action you could check the referral’s type and reject this referral if the user does not have enough money (here the API).
Kind Regards,
Antonio B.
