Homepage URL loading blank page

I am having a similar issue to this guy – https://www.itthinx.com/topic/homepage-url-incorrect-when-affiliates-by-name-used/ – but the response on his ticket does not actually relate to the question.

When I wrap the [affiliates_url] short code with [affiliates_by_username] the link does not go to the site homepage. Rather it loads a blank page with only the header and menu visible at the top. If I change the username in the url back to the id then the page will load.

This same problem does NOT occur on other pages when I wrap the [affiliates_generate_url] with the [affiliates_by_username]. I can successfully load any other page on the site.

  1. Hi Kento,

It is not resolved. It only seems to be resolved because I have deactivated the Affiliates AddToAny extension. There is an incompatibility between your Affiliates By Username plug-in and both the Affiliates AddToAny and Affiliates AddThis extensions that George is investigating.

George has admin access, which he can give you, so you can activate either of the social sharing button plug-ins (AddToAny or AddThis) and the corresponding Affiliates AddToAny or Affiliates AddThis extensions to see the problem.

    Cheers, Rick

  2. Hi,

I’ve just tested http://sourceonesbliss.com/?isr=geot and it ends up on the home page looking good … seems to be resolved.

    Cheers

  3. I see.
Perhaps it’s better to have a look on your site.
Can you please send admin access to support at itthinx dot com and don’t forget to mention a link to this topic in the mail body.

    Cheers

  4. Hi George,

Yes, I have tried that, with the same results.

Using the (username) affiliate parameter with any url on the site, other than the home page, works fine. It is only when using the username affiliate parameter on the end of the home page url that the page renders with only a header and footer. Note that using the numeric affiliate id works all of the time (even with the home page url).

It wonder if it might be some issue with the affiliate_parse_request function (in affiliates-enterprise/lib/core/wp-init.php) that strips the affiliate id from the url before the wp_redirect, in the case where it the affiliate_parse_request_affiliate_id hook is in play? Just a thought.

Your help would be much appreciated, since this problem has stalled the go-live with an client’s affiliate/woocommerce site.

    Thanks and Cheers, Richard

  5. Hi Richard,

Have you tried to use [affiliates_by_username][affiliates_affiliate_link][/affiliates_by_username] instead? Do you get the same results?

    Kind regards,
    George
