Hide Fields in Profile Tab and Schedule Rates Amount
—
by
Hi support team.
We have a few questions.
1) We would like to inquire if we can disable editing/hide a few fields in the Profile Tab inside Dashboard. For example, we would like to disable editing/hide Real Name and ID Number fields as it is considered permanent. So we do not allow it is changed/edited by the affiliate agent.
2) Is there a way to schedule Rates amount? For example, we would like to do a 7 days sale. So we would like to decrease the Rates amount to 5% for the whole 7 days and the amount will return back to 10% after it is ended.
Thanks and regards.

Hi Karim,
Welcome to our support forum and many thanks for using our affiliate marketing tool on your site.
The profile fields rendered can be managed in Affiliates > Settings > Registration(tab) where you can select which fields will be used for the registration and profile forms. However, these forms share the same fields and the fields being hidden there won’t be available even for the registration form. Since your case is unique and you wish to hide some fields only from the profile form, you need to use a custom template for the profile like the one found here
– https://www.dropbox.com/s/91pcqeny6lz6aab/profile.php?dl=0
Once you download the file create the appropriate folder structure in your theme – preferably a child theme – and put in there. Further instructions for overriding Affiliates Dashboard templates can be found in the documentation. In the template I chose to hide the last name and its label but if you wish to hide additional fields you can do so with a similar context. For further instructions you may ask here with a follow-up comment and make sure to mention your affiliate dashboard page link.
Regarding rates and since you’re using a percentage IMO it wouldn’t be necessary to decrease the commission rate because as a percentage it will always be a portion of and depend on ie the sale amount. For example assume you have a product that costs now 100USD and on-sale it costs 90USD. If the commission rate is 10% then during the normal period the commission will be 10 and on-sale period it will be 9. However, if this is important to you and you absolutely have to use decreased rates for a certain period, then you need to use a formula for commissions and then adjust the rate accordingly depending on the current date. This approach requires you to create a custom formula implementation with the help of the affiliates_formula_computer_variables filter hook provided in the Affiliates plugin. Please note that WP hooks and this specific implementation requires advanced knowledge of PHP.
Kind regards,
George
