Group hierarchy content access

So I understand group hierarchies work such that capabilities are inherited from a parent group to a child groups, but does that also apply to content control access? For example, if I have a Parent Group Called “Tier 1” and a Child Group called “Tier 2”, would content only visible (via shortcodes) to Tier 1 group also be visible to Tier 2?

Thanks for the update, I wish the hierarchy tree would work with short codes, it seems there would be more need for a hierarchy system for content than for capabilities, hopefully you can implement this in a future release!

    Hi Todd,

    Happy new week!

I trust the weekend was fun and relaxing. Thank you so much for reaching out and for asking your question.

Using shortcodes content for Tier 1 wouldn’t be available for Tier 2.

However, you can make this show for both groups by using semicolons to separate the groups. For example, consider the following:
Tier 1’s id is 5 and Tier 2’s id is 6, then you can make the content available for both groups via shortcode as follows:

    [groups_member group="5,6"]
Only tier 1 and tier 2 group members can see this.
    [/groups_member]

I remain available if you have any further inquiries. I wish you a very fine day ahead!
    STAY SAFE and be awesome!
    Kind regards,
    Eugen.
