Duplicate Referrals Still Appearing

Hi – I submitted a topic on October 14th that I had duplicates appearing in my referrals lists. I unchecked the “Allow Duplicates” in the settings as you instructed but I’m still getting them. I can send you a screen shot. In the most previous case it duplicated earnings from an order twice (3 total) and caused a $42 discrepancy. Any ideas for preventing these?

  2. Hey Erica,

    Normally you should find the update notice under Plugins as it happens with any other plugin, as long as Itthinx Updates is activated on your site and your license key is in-place. You also have the option to force WordPress to check for plugin updates if you go to Plugins > Itthinx Updates and click the Check button.
    Alternatively, deactivate and delete Affiliates WooCommerce integration and then install it again through Affiliates > Settings > Integrations, this way you will install the latest version.

      Thanks, George. I had to complete the last option of deleting it and reinstalling it. I also reinstalled the updates plugin just in case it needed it since forcing it to check for updates didn’t work. Thanks for your help!

  3. Hi Erica,

    Please check your installed version of Affiliates Pro and if you’re not using the latest one, 4.10.0, then make sure to update to that version. FYI, the same applies obviously for Affiliates WooCommerce integration and the version you should have is 3.6.0.

    The issue you get is most probably related to the Payment Gateway you use and how it handles failed orders. When an order fails and the customers takes another try to process a payment, the order is handled as being re-submitted which in turn makes Affiliates Pro handle it as a new order and records another referral.

    Once you update and if the issue re-appears then of course you’re welcome to follow-up on this topic.

      Ok – I’ve upgraded Affiliates Pro, but I can’t figure out how to update “Affiliates WooCommerce Integration.” There isn’t a download option in my account…do I need to repurchase it? I can’t find it as a stand-alone product. I tried going to Affiliates > Settings > Integrations. It shows I have it installed, but no update option to upgrade there or in Plugins. I’m currently on 3.4. Sorry if I’m overlooking something obvious!

    To enable debugging, edit your wp-config.php file and replace this line: 

    define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, false );

    with these lines:

    define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );
    define( ‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true );
    define( ‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false );

    Sorry to hear that you have issues with referrals even when duplicate referrals are not allowed.
    Normally, this shouldn’t occur since the previous option is disabled, because the system would only allow one referrals to be recorded for the same order.
    Yes I would like to see some screenshots but before taking them, please go to Affiliates > Referrals and in the Filters section make sure to enable Expand details, Expand descriptions, Expand data, Expand items and click on Apply. Then proceed and take a screenshot for each one of this set of duplicate referrals and share them with us. The reason I’m asking for one screenshot per referral is because I’m not expecting them all to fit in one shot.

      Ugh. I’m sorry! I had to do a payout today and so I had to delete the duplicates. The next time it happens, I’ll grab all of the information and send it to you. They all linked to the same order at the same time. I’ll email you the screenshot I took, even though it may not be helpful to you. There’s no way to submit a screenshot here, right?
