Different Group Tiered Percentages

by

Player (1st) = 20%
Team (2nd tier)= 10%

Team (1st tier) = 30% (currently using Groups for different commission rate)

Player will NOT have a 2nd tier

Player can CHOOSE their Team (2nd tier)
or at least for them to see who their Team is.

Display commissions Player contributed to Team
(Example: I sold $200 – shows “Contributed $20 to Firebird Baseball Team”)

Rank Teams to the public / logged in users (does not need to show amount – just ‘rank’)

————————————————————————-

Now, I understand that I can manually change an affiliate’s 2nd tier, but due to the scale of how many people are signing up this won’t work. I’ll obviously prompt the Team to give their Players their code, but obviously some won’t.

I have 2 different “Memberships” which will automatically change their User Role. I can then provide the “Join Group” shortcode to have Teams go into their special group. I was considering using BuddyPress just for the Teams too.

  1. Hi Bo,
You shouldn’t worry about anything, the point is to understand the system.

You set an attribute for the player in order to receive commission on sales.
If you don’t want them to receive from tiers you can manage this when/if someone referred by a player becomes an affiliate. You can change the referrer option for instance, to something different than the player.

    Kind regards,
    George

  2. The player would receive commission on their sales. Along with contributing 10% to their Team and 20% to the League.
I just don’t want them to receive Tiered commission if by chance someone unintentionally signs up under the player due to the affiliate cookie.
I know I can set Level 1 and 2 to 0% for individuals affiliates, but I need to do everything in Bulk for Player.
This is why I was wondering how I could set the Tiers for Groups (instead of individuals)

Teams and Players would have their own coupon code.

Thanks for your help George. I apologize if we are running in circles to an extent.

  3. Hi Bo,

You are right, in order now to ensure that the player doesn’t get commission is by setting attributes with zero values. If you also use Affiliate Coupons, make sure to remove this attribute. Affiliates is not integrated, at least currently, with Groups and vise versa.

    Kind regards,
    George

  4. I understand the reasoning for posting here.

Okay, so it looks like I do understand it properly.
My main issue is being able to do changes in bulk due to the amount of affiliates.

This is how it looks like it needs to be setup:
    2 Tiers
    Level 1 – 10%
    Level 2 – 0%

The “Team” would then be able to get 10% off of their “Players” sales and if anyone signed up under the Player then they would receive 0%.

I’d have 2 Tiers so the League could receive 20% off of either the Team or Player.
I changed the League’s level 1 and level 2 at 0.20 along with their attribute referral rate at 0.4
The League would be the Direct (receive all sales from site)

My issue with all of this is still that the Player could possibly have someone sign up under them and receive commissions.

Is there anyways to disable having Tiers for a certain Group?

  5. Hi Bo,

Support requests are dealt in the forum which acts as a future reference for you, other customers and us at http://www.itthinx.com. That’s the reason these requests are public in order to be able to help other users as well.

Exactly, you are the one who defines how many tiers/levels each affiliate has. If you don’t want then all the tiers to be availiable to all the levels you can set the affiliate’s respective level commission rate to 0.
Define 2 levels under Affiliates->Tiers and then create the tree with League>Team1>Player1 to better understand how it works.

If there is anything else you want me to clarify, let me know.

    Kind regards,
    George

  6. I may have slightly mis-understood how the tiers work.
I believed that anyone that signs up would then have as many tiers as I define below them.
Ex: If there are 3 tiers, then they when they signup they will have 2 tiers below them when people signup below them.

Is it possible to chat via email regarding this?
Please email me using my account email if possible.
I would like to discuss further details regarding the scale of this site to get your opinion and see what development I need done.

  7. Hi Bo you’re welcome.

    My plan is this.
    League(affiliate)->Team1(affiliate)->Player1(affiliate).
The arrows show who is referring whom, in order for the tiers to be active.

So create an affiliate named League. Then you set level 1 for the league at 0.20 and level 2 at 0.20.
Using its affiliate link create an affiliate named Team1.
Then with teams affiliate link create an affiliate named player1.
I suggest to follow this procedure in order to figure out better how the whole system works.

Add an attribute referral rate at 0.4 for direct sales of the league.

All the statistics can be found in the default Affiliates Area page that is created when you installed the plugin. If not you can add it by Affiliates > Settings > Pages and press the Generate button. Of course you can improve or alter these results by shortcodes you can find in the documentation page

If there is anything else i could help, please let me know, your project is very interesting.

    Kind regards,
    George

  8. Thank you George for your prompt response!

That is great to know about [affiliates_tiers] to show all the Team’s sales for the League and the Players individual contributions to that Team! I’m just continually impressed with the functionality you guys have built into all these plugins.

You are correct as there is 1 league. They will receive 20% on all sales made by the team and players, but 40% if its just direct through the site. However, I was planning on sending them a report of total sales make through affiliate and through direct and then sorting that payment separately due to how the funds are transferred to them. Therefore, I was not as concerned about this aspect.

I think you got a good grasp of the idea. There just may be a few things to clarify so I can understand how to properly setup the tiers.

My main concern is limiting Players from ever being a 2nd tier. That if any affiliate signs up that their 2nd Tier must be a Team.
Only Teams (and the 1 league) will receive commissions on others (Players) affiliates sales. Each player will have their own affiliate account and so be paid and see their stats.
How would I set this up????

I look forward to your reply and help on this!!

    Thanks,
    Bo

  9. Hi Bo,

From what i’ve read so far you are planning to have a league of teams were players will contribute, right? Each player will contribute to one team only.
So if my assumptions are right( correct me if i’m wrong) the league would be an affiliate, that will refer teams and teams will refer players. For this you need level/tier 1 commission set for the league and teams. League level 1 can be 1 so that all the commissions go to the league and then by using [affiliates_tiers] shortcode you can have a tree in the league’s page with the team’s amounts, though not in a ranking order.
With the same shortcode you can see the players’ contributions to their teams.

If you use [referrer_user direct="true"] shortcode you can inform the player as to which team he/she belongs to.

Teams can also send or share coupons( team coupons) to players if player contribution has to do with online purchasing of products.

Hope i got right so far, otherwise let me know.

    Kind regards,
    George
