Custom affiliate link

Hello Affiliate Pro team,

1. How do I create a custom link for a client such that it doesn’t end the url in /affiliate-7 or something like that but rather something custom? I paid the 49 dollars for Affiliate Pro and am having a bit of an issue with navigating Affiliate Pro on my wordpress site.

2. How do I allow my client to be able to view their traffic/affiliate sales at any time?

  1. Hi Bennet,

You can use the username for the affiliate URL either with the shortcode,
    1. For the URL:
    [affiliates_by_username][affiliates_url][/affiliates_by_username]
    2. For the link:
    [affiliates_by_username][affiliates_affiliate_link][/affiliates_by_username]

    or
you can use the affiliates-by-username template and render it in the Affiliates Dashboard Overview. Please check the email you are using here for your user account, I have sent you the template file. This file should be added in your child theme folder and the location should be
    your_child_theme_folder/affiliates/dashboard/overview-pro.php.
The reason why you should use a child theme, is to keep the template file intact upon any future updates of your main theme.

    Kind regards,
    George

Hi George, I bought Affiliates by Username and installed it on my WordPress site but after doing so — the url is still outputting just a number and not the user’s name.

  3. Hi Bennett,

Welcome to our support channel and many thanks for choosing Affiliates Pro as your affiliate marketing system.

As for the URL, Affiliates plugin offers two different options:
    1. The first one is the one you are currently using, with the affiliate=123 in the end of the URL
    2. The second one using the premium addon Affiliates by Username that will make the URL parameter look like affiliate=bennet.

At the moment there is no option to use custom URL parameters for affiliates, but as an idea it sounds interesting and I think we should examine the potential of this feature in an upcoming version of the plugin.

Regarding affiliates earnings and traffic, please go to Affiliates > Settings > Pages(tab) and hit the Generate button. This will create a new page that will render the Affiliates Dashboard, which contains all the necessary information for your affiliates. All they have to do is login with their user credentials.

For further assistance with any of the features of Affiliates plugin, you are more than welcome to add a comment here or start a new topic.

    Kind regards,
    George
