Commissions versus overrides
—
by
Hi,
First, let me say that setting things up to this point has been extremely simple and straight forward. I have been reading the docs and understand Affiliates Enterprise is very strong with features, but I am having a problem determining how to apply the settings for my desired output even though I can see the individual pieces fine.
I have 10 tiers and do not plan to support more than that.
Here are the commission rules I am attempting to apply:
For Product A:
1. Sales people receive 20% on direct sales
2. Any affiliate a salesperson signs up receives 10% on their direct sales
3. An affiliate signed up by another affiliate receives 10% on their direct sales
4. Salespeople also receive 5% on any of their downline affiliates’ sales regardless of what tier the affiliate is on
5. Affiliates receive 5% override on their 1st downline tier affiliates’ sales.
6. Affiliates receive 1% override on their 2nd and beyond downline tier affiliates’ sales.
Example 1:
A sale made by an affiliate just below a salesperson will result in 10% to the affiliate and 5% to the salesperson
Example 2:
A sale made by an affiliate signed up by another affiliate under a salesperson will result in 5% to the salesperson, 5% to the affiliate who signed up the affiliate making the sale and 10% to the affiliate making the sale
Example 3:
A sales made by an affiliate who is tier 10 who was signed up by affiliates that signed up affiliates all the way up to the affiliate signed up by a salesperson should result in the salesperson receiving 5%, the affiliate in tier 10 who made the sale receiving 10%, the tier 9 affiliate who signed up the affiliate making the sale receiving 5% and all the affiliates on tier 2 through 8 receiving 1%
I cannot seem to get the tier/rates to work correctly in this combination. What am I missing? Also, is there a wa to limit the number of people in the downline who get the 1% override?
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Happy holidays!
I trust you are well and safe! Thank you so much for choosing and using Affiliates Enterprise. It brings us great joy to know we have you our valued customer.
After taking a close look at your issue, here’s what I can advise;
You could use our Groups plugin and create two distinct groups: One for salespersons and the other for affiliates. Then have rates set up for these groups based on the requirement above: you can read more on that here.
I would also highly recommend you have a look at this blog post on Tiers,

The above blog post would give you a great inside into how tiers operate and what is possible. Please have a look and let me know if you need further help.
I remain available if you have any further inquiries. Please, we’ll be away from tomorrow to the 28th of December, however, please feel free to reach out and I’ll get to you as soon as I can.
Once again, I must thank you for being ever so patient and for being a valued customer of Affiliates Enterprise.
Happy holidays and merry Christmas in advance.
STAY SAFE and be awesome!
Kind regards,
Eugen.
