Cant access affiliate area all links simply redirect to main shop page

Whatever I click in either the back end affiliate area page or the on the front end link to the affiliate area page the pages just refreshes and goes back to the main shop page (home page). This Affiliate Pro is a fresh install and I am not a coder so I have not twiddled with anything. I have also tried from different browsers but the same thing happens and you cannot get to the affiliate login or see a front end affiliate page.
