Can attach buyer and affiliate for lifetime

Hi,
I want to attach buyer to specific affiliate for lifetime. Right now i think its working with cookie. What i understand is if user clear cookie or place order from other system than commission will not go to previous affiliate.

Is there any options or add on that do this? Once user visit our site throw any affiliate than it will store in database and after any time if same user purchase from our site than commission goes to same affiliate.

    Hello,
    I am going to do my own customization. Can you give me specification which files need to edit to make lifetime feature work?

      Hi Mats, that won’t be necessary I suppose, in the meantime we’ve updated the Affiliates Permanent plugin – please download version 1.2.0 from http://www.itthinx.com/downloads/ and give this version a try please. You will find it has two new options which are enabled by default, one is to do the assignment on first referral which covers this case.

        Thanks for update.
        I have updated plugin version. Assignment on first referral point is covered. But it will work for lifetime or until cookie expiration time? I need it to work for lifetime. When one customer is assigned to any affiliate than their relation should maintain for lifetime not until cookie expire time.

          Hi Mats, it’s not depending on the cookie expiration once the permanent assignment is made. If you visit the user’s profile page as an admin, you will see there’s an additional section in there showing the assignment. Note that you can change or set it there manually as well.

    Are we talking about more then 2-3 Moths? Because if it’s long in the future we have to do our own customisation on the extension to make it work.

    Or if you are interested we can make it for you too.

      It won’t take that long, I’ve had a quick look at the plugin and we just need to allow to skip its new customer verification as an option (never mind what I mean by that, it’s a note to self ;)). Thanks for the offer to do it yourself, but I think it won’t be necessary.

    Thanks for reply. Can you give a estimation when the automatic assignment will be implemented?

      It’s already scheduled but it can’t give you an exact estimate as we have other stuff with higher priority in front of the queue.

    Hi Mats,

    For this the Affiliates Permanent plugin could be suitable. That plugin currently requires WooCommerce for the automatic assignment to work as it is based on orders, but we are going to make it more flexible to allow for the automatic assignment made on the first referral granted.
