Bullk Import Files Stored in an s3 Bucket

I have a couple thousand files stored in an s3 bucket. How can I bulk import and assign groups to these files? I see the ability to do this with natively stored files, but not S3.

Hi George. I have already followed the steps outlined in the blog post to link my S3 bucket via Groups File Access & it is working well. I have linked an existing s3 bucket containing a complex file key structure & thousands of files. What I was hoping for was a way to bulk assign groups to multiple files. I think I figured it out though. I assigned a group to one file in the s3 bucket, then navigated to Groups > File Import. Then I used the export file function. I plan on using the generated text file as a template to import a full file list with their associated groups. Will follow up if I have issues.

  3. Hi Ashwin,

Welcome to our support forum for Groups File Access.

Especially for an S3 bucket you don’t need to import the files but instead give access to your bucket. Please have a look at the detailed tutorial we have here

where we explain all the required steps for such a setup.

    Kind regards,
    George
