I’m hoping for “dumb user” help to get my Banners do work.
1) I have added an image
2) I have created a banner
… so how do I get the image/banner to direct to the page that offers that product …. where and how do I add that destination link?
Here’s what the documentation tells me, but I can’t find where to do this: [affiliates_banner id=”142″ url=”http://www.example.com/foobar/”]
I can’t find where (Media … or Banners) where I can append the URL to the Banner shortcode.
Thanks!

Hi Bill,
if you add the
render="code"
attribute, then the html code is displayed, so your affiliate can use this html code to share for example in a blog. You need to add the shortcode [affiliates_banner ....] in your affiliate-area page, so your affiliates can see their custom banners and links.

Thanks for the reply, Antonio … but nothing you have explained gets me any closer to understanding this.
* How do I point the image/banner to the correct product?
* How does each affiliate associate their affiliate code with the link?
* How and where would I add/modify this “render” code?
* What do they use to post the link in an email?
I added the image to my media library and then added the new banner as the documentation suggests … I see nowhere where I can add anything to that information that allows me to point to the product I am promoting.
Hi,
1.- To point the banner to the correct product, you should use the ‘url’ attribute in the shortcode, ex. [affiliates_banner id="142" url="http://www.example.com/products/my-product"]
2.- Using the shortcode in your affiliate-area page, the system automatically ‘create’ the custom link/code when the affiliate visits this page. So each affiliate will see his custom code when visit the affiliate-area page, and he can copy-paste this code in his blog/email/social network …
3.- You can use the ‘render’ attribute in the shortcode in the affiliate-area page.
4.- They need to copy-paste the banner code generated in their affiliate-area page, in the email, blog…
Kind Regards,
