Any way to apply a group to batch of pages?
—
by
Hi! I love this plugin. I’m using it to segment access for a site we are using for documentation handbooks where different user groups have different access to policy handbooks.
But, it would be super helpful if there was a way that I could select a group of pages and assign a group to them in one step. Right now it seems I can only do this by editing each page.
Am I missing something? Many Thanks!

You’re welcome Adam.

Hey Adam,
Welcome to our support forum and many thanks for choosing groups as your content restriction tool.
You are absolutely correct to assume that you need to edit each page and restrict it to a group. However, it sound like an interesting idea which I should keep in mind and check if it can be added as a core feature in an upcoming release of groups.
In the meantime and if you’re familiar with PHP you can use this method
http://api.itthinx.com/groups/source-class-Groups_Post_Access.html#491-529
to implement a simple script that should run only once and add restrictions to the pages you define for the desired groups.
Kind regards,
George
thanks, George! an interface in the UI would be really great! I’ll take a look at the script, I’m not expert in PHP but can usually bash on it until I make it work. 🙂 A
