All referral orders being credited to “Direct”

We thought that the plugin was working and that we just had any affiliate referrals, but that isn’t the case.
All orders are being credited as “Direct”.

We don’t have any kind of caching program running. Are there any other plugin types that would cause something like this to happen?

Is there a way we can get some assistance with this?

    Hi,

    You are welcome.

I’ve also received the notification email normally.

Just in case there is an issue with the affiliate you used, try to add a new affiliate and refer a new sale. Since your staging site is a clone of your live site, it should be working on both sites.

    Kind regards,
    George

  2. Hi George, thank you for testing the process for us.

On the live site, we’re not seeing anyone get credited. Maybe we’re not looking in the correct place?

Did you receive the affiliate email about the sale?

    Thanks for providing access.

I’ve created an affiliate account, copied the affiliate link and then bought the book suggested by Kathy. The referral has been properly credited to me alongside with a referral amount.
    What process did you follow?

    Cheers,
    George

  4. We’ve sent you an email George.

    Thanks for providing access.

It seems that your site can’t be reached, i get an Error code 16 as seen in the screenshot.
Could you please have a look?

    Cheers,
    George

  6. Okay, thank you George.

I am setting up an admin user for you now on a sandbox site.

    You’ll receive a login shortly.

  7. You are welcome.

Please have a look also at the Troubleshooting section in case your hosting provider is using Varnish Cache or if your site is hosted in WordPress Engine.

If none of these is your case either, i think it’s better to have a look on your Dashboard. You can send me temp admin access to george@itthinx.com. It would be even better if you can create a staging site so that i can freely debug your plugins( there might be a conflict with another plugin ) and switch to a default theme, if the issue is theme related.

    Cheers,
    George

  8. Thanks for the reply George.

We are only using the Affiliates Pro plugin and have activated the WooCommerce integration.

We’ve had our developer check and he has verified that the affiliate cookie is properly stored in the browser cookies. We tested with an active affiliate link.

Any thoughts on what would our next step would be?

  9. Hi John,

Please make sure that you use an affiliate link of an active affiliate, not pending and that the affiliate cookie is properly stored in your browser cookies.

Also, check that you have installed and activated the proper integration for your e-commerce system. These integrations can be found in Affiliates > Settings under Integrations tab. You can install them for free if your license is active and you have installed and activated Itthinx Updates plugin which manages your license and updates for your Itthinx.com plugins. You can find more info on available integrations in the documentation.

If your e-commerce integration is installed, then check if you also use Affiliates Permanent plugin and that the user that makes a purchase is assigned to the Direct affiliate.
Another option would be if you are using Affiliates Products plugin and the product you are buying is assigned to the Direct affiliate.

If none of the above is your case, please let me know.

    Kind regards,
    George
