Affiliates Referrals are NOT being tracked correctly

We have setup the affiliate referrals, and clicks are tracking but the referral part is not. We are on WPEngine and have done what your troubleshooting said (excluding the page variable “affiliate=” from being cached, but the referrals still aren’t tracking as they should. Most are being designated to the default affiliate, but there should be a much larger percentage going to the affiliates.

We have a 90 day timeout (this offer hasn’t been going on that long, so the timeout shouldn’t be an issue). We use Ecwid and have added the additional plugin and tied the two together, but are stumped as to why we can’t referrals to track correctly. Please help!

  1. Hi Erin,

If you have a small amount of referrals effectively being attributed to affiliates but the majority aren’t, then this is most probably reflecting the fact that your affiliate program is recent and your affiliates haven’t generated a substantial amount of traffic to your site. In any case, you should test it by doing:

    1. Create a test affiliate account
    2. Visit the test affiliate’s link
    3. Make a purchase and verify that the purchase has generated a referral which is credited to the test affiliate

If that works, then what I mentioned above applies. If it does not work, please check that the Ecwid integration and ION cannon endpoint is working correctly as these are necessary for referrals to be credited correctly.
