Affiliate Referrer name short code

Hi, i have been asked to post into the forum for help, i have recently asked what the shortcode is so when an affiliate logs in they can see the name of the person that referred them.

I do have a team page using the tier shortcode that lists from affiliate going downline, but no matter what i do even though i have been advised to look at tier shortcodes nothing works.

I am not expert at using shortcode and adding parameters etc, so it would be really helpful if someone knows how to create this shortcode to post it so i can copy it and paste it.

Affiliates who want to build a team will look to the person that has referred them but unless i can add a name and possibly an email they will not be able to do this.

Also i have tried many ways to show when an affiliate logs in it says welcome *name* etc so its personnalised, i can put a shortcode that states the user id number but cant work our how to change the parameter to show the name.

If anyone could help i would appreciate it as i have been trying to 4 days to work it out, posted on other pages and no further forward.

Many thanks

  1. Hi Andrew,

To display the referrer, the [referrer_user] shortcode is used. For example, the following will show the username and email of the referring affiliate:

    [referrer_user display="user_login"] [referrer_user display="user_email"]

For additional options, please see the Shortcodes section.

Displaying the user’s name isn’t part of the Affiliates plugin itself as this is an aspect of the WordPress user, you can easily display it using a solution like the one explained here and there are several plugins available for user profiles like the one mentioned in Useful Plugins.

Please let me know if that helps or if you have any questions on the usage.
