Affiliate pro questions for my affiliates
—
by
Hello George and Eugene, and maybe someone else 🙂
I hope you guyz are doing great and that you are safe at home 🙂
I come to ask you some questions because i have a very implicated affiliate that asks me a lot of questions and that is limited by some part of the Affiliate plugin.
I asked him to email me his concerns so I can share them with you and together we can try to find solutions :
It is important that the plugin registered in a good way all the purchases and for this I think we have to pay attention to the following:
– if a person use the code directly on the website ( plantandhemp ) it doesn’t count like a referral
( Indeed, my affiliate have 2 personalized voucher code that they give to their customers, but the system doesn’t recognized the voucher code as a direct sell from the affiliate (referral) and that is an issue)
– if a person delete cookies and after buy again without code ( already used ) are we sure that it counts like a referral?
( As the system doesn’t count voucher code used as a referral, I do it manually)
– if I buy today and i don’t buy for more then 60 days how can the system recognize me? For the account registered ( email ) or always with the cookies? Are we sure that is working?
– the system doesn’t show right value in the affiliate area 2 ( I asked more picture about that)
Thank you for your help and time!
Lucas from plantandhemp

Hey Lucas,
Thanks for asking everything is good so far, hope the same to you as well.
FYI, each link to your site can be used as an affiliate link as long as the affiliate URL parameter is added to it. In this case if the affiliate id is correct and the affiliate URL parameter on your settings is grower then the link is correct and can result in a referral for that affiliate.
There is also a tool for your affiliates that appears in Affiliates Dashboard Overview which can generate affiliate links likewise.

Kind regards,
George
Hey Lucas,
Happy Easter to you too, wish you all the best!
Cheers
Hello George!
Hope you are doing good!
I have a question for you, a quick one 🙂
One of my affiliate asked if she can her add her affiliate ID (?grower=8 in this case (i replaced “affiliate” by “grower” btw)) to a product, to direct the link to the product she wants to recommend ( and get commission for)
so, the question in this case is, does her link https://plantandhemp.com/product/cbd-warrior-rub-600ml-huna/?growers=8 will work as a referral? or only https://plantandhemp.com/?growers=8 can give her referrals?
thank you a lot!
Hey Lucas,
Thanks for providing access to your shop.
FYI, I’ve run two test sales #10549, #10562 where in the first one I used an affiliate link and on the second one I used the coupon “testcoupon” attributed to Charlie Kitchen. The testcoupon has been created for this session explicitly and still exists in WooCommerce > Coupons. Both cases have the normal result and the affiliate involved has been granted a referral and a commission according to the dynamic rates from the addon we provided on a previous discussion we had.
If you have issues with a specific coupon code, double check its settings, make sure that the affiliate using it is still active and try to confirm that the code has been actually used in an order.
Kind regards,
George
Happy Easter George!
Thank you for your work and your help
Take care
Hi Lucas,
This can be possible if for some reason the cookie wasn’t stored. We can also have a look on your setup and check the situation as long as you provide us with temp admin access to the site running Affiliates plugin. You may send the credentials to george at itthinx dot com.
Kind regards,
George
Thank you George, will do now
Thank you
Hey Lucas,
Please have a look at this documentation page where we explain the process of adding attributes to your affiliates.
Regarding Affiliates Permanent, new customers can be associated with an affiliate when they are first referred or for existing customers upon first referral. You may find the details in the product page for the plugin and in the documentation described here:
Please make sure to have a look and see if this is actually what you’re looking for in your setup.
Once you get the additional info from your client, let me know.
Kind regards,
George
Hello George, thank you a lot, will get on it
I have still some issue with my affiliate.
He assures me ( and i do believe him) a client came to his website, clicked on his affiliate link that lead to our website, made a purchase and it doesn’t appear in the referral… is it possible?
he knew the client name because he talked to him and the client indeed bought on our website.
So it is clear the client went first on his website then on our, that is why i gave him manualy the referral, but i don’t understand why it didn’t work.
Any explanation?
Thank you a lot
Hello George,
Thank you for your fast answer!
– About the 2: I only created code from the WC (WC/ coupons), and I didn’t associate any code to my affiliate, I didn’t know it was possible.
can you tell me where I can create these coupons in the affiliate part?
– Affiliates Permanent premium addon should be used. => I will buy it then, can you tell me how I associate a customer to an affiliate?
– – Indeed on this one I also need further details to express an opinion. => I willsend you that tomorrow.
thank you a lot
Hi Lucas,
Yes, for the time being we are all safe, wish the same to you.
Below you may see my replies in order of appearance.
– A coupon code used in an order will grant a referral to the affiliate whom is assigned to as attribute. The prerequisites for this are
1. The coupon to be active and valid
2. The code itself should be in the same case in WC and Affiliates. WC supports lowercase coupon codes while Affiliates supports both upper- and lowercase coupon codes for compatibility with other systems. So a WC coupon name “yourcoupon” is different than an affiliate-attributed coupon code “yourCOUPON”. If the code yourcoupon is used in a sale and the affiliate has yourCOUPON attributed, then the affiliate won’t get a referral.
– If the cookie doesn’t exist anymore in the user browser and no valid coupon code is used, then a referral will not and should not be recorded for an affiliate.
– The system will be able to record a referral once an affiliate link is used or by using a coupon assigned to an affiliate. If though on the other hand we need to permanently assign a customer to an affiliate then the Affiliates Permanent premium addon should be used.
– Indeed on this one I also need further details to express an opinion.
Kind regards,
George
