Affiliate Notifications and Order information

Hello!
I would like to let our affiliates know who made a purchase through their affiliate link.
So, I would like the notification to look something like this:

Hello (affiliate/SRA name), an order has been made on your page.

Customer Name: (customer_name)

Order Totals:

Merchandise: $180.00
Shipping: $17.77
Tax: $0.00
ORDER TOTAL: $197.77

Thank you (affiliate/SRA) for your referral.

Are there shortcodes for order information? If so how do I find them? If not, how can I go about making and using them?

Thanks in advance!

  1. So if I am in the notification area, and want to send them the info I stated above, how would I do that with the views?

It seems the only params that the views have available are:
    status
    from date
    until date
    for dates
order_by (which is an order by for the list of affiliate orders)
    ASC DESC
    a limit of orders

But it doesn’t tell me what fields it does show!
Does it show customer? Totals? both order and shipping?

And then, how do you test it? I have a stage set up…But do I have to do the whole order just to test the notifications?

If I seem to be missing something, sorry! There’s a lot to take in with getting this organized!

    Thanks!

    1. The views are used on the front end for logged in affiliates, they don’t provide additional tokens for the notifications. What you can do is include a link for the affiliate to the page where they can access that extended data.

Regarding tests, you should certainly test it completing the whole cycle, i.e. sign up a test affiliate account, visit that affiliate’s link and place an order as a test customer etc.

I hope that helps to clarify a bit more, if you need more help, please ask 🙂

  2. Hi Christina,

I’ll point you to the available resources on this:

Regarding tokens and notification customization please refer to the Notifications section in the documentation.

Please also have a look at the Filters section, particularly the following filters will allow you to include additional information regarding orders:

    – affiliates_notifications_tokens
    – affiliates_notifications_data_tokens
    – affiliates_notifications_data

Note that the corresponding referral has the order reference for that purpose.

If you’d like to display order details on the front end for affiliates, there is Affiliates WooCommerce Views which provides a shortcode for that.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you need further help on that.

    Cheers
