Affiliate links not being recognized?

I have searched the forum and documentation and cannot locate anything related to this question.

I have had multiple orders come in over the past week or so and NONE of them are attached to an affiliate link. This is bizarre, as I rarely get orders through my blog shop (personally, as direct orders), as I promote my Etsy store (and let my affiliates promote my blog shop).

Is there a way to see if these orders should be attached to an affiliate link? None of them have been, so no credit is being given (they are coming in as ‘direct link’ orders). I’d say that there is a VERY small chance that this could be the case, but I’m almost fairly certain that they should be attached to affiliate links.

I recently updated WP. Could something have changed with the recent WP.org update? What can I do from here?

Thanks so much,

One response to “Affiliate links not being recognized?”

  1. Hi Jess,

Please make sure that the integration plugin is activated, you should see a menu item Affiliates > WooCommerce Integration. Also check that you have set a referral rate under Affiliates > Settings and that the referral timeout under Affiliates > Options is appropriate.

I would strongly recommend to run a quick test as well: create a test affiliate, in another browser, visit the affiliate’s link and place an order. You should see a referral recorded and attributed to the test affiliate.

Taking into account the referral timeout setting, you can also check when affiliate links were visited and if any orders have been placed after the visits to the links have expired. The sections Affiliates > Visits & Referrals and Affiliates > Affiliates & Referrals can help you get a clearer picture on that.

If the test I have indicated to you above fails, please let me know here.
