Affiliate by Username not working with [affiliates_dashboard_overview]
—
by
Hi,
I am trying to use [affiliates_dashboard_overview] on a page. At the bottom of the result, it has a place where the user can enter a link and generate an affiliate link.
I have the Affiliate by Username plugin installed.
The shortcode [affiliates_dashboard_overview] doesn’t create a link with the username even when I put:
[affiliates_by_username][affiliates_dashboard_overview][/affiliates_by_username]
When the page is first opened up, it would display an affiliate link with the username. But if I type another URL in the URL field, it would then generate a link with the affiliate ID instead of affiliate username.
Is this fixable on my end?
Thanks,
Kennis

You’re welcome!
Thank you so much!
Hi Kennis,
FYI, I’ve modified the Affiliates Dashboard Overview template, so that if Affiliates by Username is enabled the affiliate url generator will append the username instead of the id.
Please unzip the file I’ve sent you in the email address used during checkout and place the folder in your theme folder (preferably child theme). The structure you should have must be wp-content/your-theme/affiliates/dashboard/overview-pro.php.
Kind regards,
George
Thanks for looking into it.
Hey Kennis,
Many thanks for using Affiliates plugins as your affiliate marketing tool on WordPress.
FYI, the correct usage to display the affiliate links by username is the following:
[affiliates_by_username][affiliates_url][/affiliates_by_username]
and if placed in a page, it will render the affiliate URL using the username instead of the id.
What you tried here won't work because [affiliates_dashboard] shortcode will render a series of templates where by default the affiliate URL is using the ID.
Please allow me to have a look on how we can adjust the overview template and make it use the affiliate's name instead of the id.
Kind regards,
George
