AddThis plugin necessity

The AddThis plugin messes up my landing page. I adjusted the settings in the plugin to be controlled by the AddThis dashboard and the AddThis dashboard to omit the home page but my site does not respond after saving. The AddThis buttons continue appear on the home page which messes up the layout of only that page. I was able to get the AddThis feature to recognize the dashboard settings to omit the home page by disabling the plugin and manually inserting the AddThis code into the of my theme. I am curious if Affiliates Pro will work with AddThis if the AddThis service is being implemented without the plugin. Thanks in advance!
