Affiliates Jigoshop Light

This WordPress plugin integrates Affiliates with Jigoshop:

  • Jigoshop is an awesome free e-commerce plugin.
  • Affiliates is an excellent free affiliate program plugin.

With this integration plugin, referrals are created automatically for your affiliates when sales are made.

The plugin allows you to set a referral (commission) rate so that your affiliates get credited with a referral based on a percentage of each sale’s total net amount.

What you need to use this is all free and ready to go:

  1. Hello! I have never ventured into affiliate relationships on my ecom site but think it is time I do so. Our site sells used golfballs. We have millions of them in stock at all times and we have been in biz for many years. Only recently has our woocommerce based ecom site been organized to the point where we could even think about an affiliate program. Prior to this most of our annual sales were done word of mouth and on ebay.

We are heading to a major PGA merchandising show in a monthm primnarily to roll out the new site, and I would like to build some affiliate bridges there with potential resellers…of which there will be hundreds if not thousands! I would like to be able to qualify certain affiliates at the show and see them make money from their visitors using our site to place orders. We will do all the billing, fulfillment, etc. from our California warehouse. Note that their referrals can be either retail or wholesale…our prices are low enough for wholesale buyers to resell in their brick and mortar stores, etc.

Please talk to me like you would talk to a twelve year old about your product and this sort of program. I’m not stupid…just uneducated on how this works. I need advise that lets me know this product is what I need for this endeavor. I have only a few short weeks to set this up.

    THANK YOU!

    1. Hi Dean,

I would recommend you to simply try it out on a test site. There are free versions available which allow you to fully handle an affiliate program based on WooCommerce. Also a look at the documentation pages previously can give you a good idea of whether this would be a fit for your requirements or not: Documentation.

You can install the free Affiliates plugin and the free integration for WooCommerce directly from your WordPress dashboard. Go to Plugins > Add New, search for Affiliates … install the Affiliates plugin and the Affiliates WooCommerce Integration Light plugin.

After you have assured that these meet your requirements, you can make a much better decision on whether to get the Pro or Enterprise version of the Affiliates plugin and the advanced integration for WooCommerce.

Feel free to post any questions you have while trying it out.

      Cheers

  2. Hi Kento,

My apologies I am a new developer looking into the task at hand. This hadnt been communicated to me.

Okay, well thanks for you your help

    Cheers

    Scott

    1. Thanks Scott, no worries 🙂

  3. Hi thanks for getting back so quickly. I can’t see any plugins that are caching. The pretty URL stops working and I get 404 error. I believe the other url is working.

When I deactive and reactive it all starts working again?

    1. Hi Scott,

We’ve already looked at the site before and as you should be aware, the client’s order for the Pro integration pack was refunded quite a while ago. My recommendation for that site is to simply forget about the pretty URLs on affiliate links, unless you want to spend the appropriate amount of time (which can be considerable) trying to figure out what exactly is creating the conflict. The fault is certainly not with the Affiliates plugin nor its integration. Sorry but that’s as far as it will get, we’ve already given more than lots of help and indications for that site, you’ll have to either get to the root of the conflict by applying appropriate methods that allow you to figure out what exactly is causing the conflict, or simply not use pretty URLs for affiliate links there.

      Cheers

  4. Hi there,

Every do often the affiliates integration and affiliates URLs stop working.

If I deactivate the plugin and then reactivate it works perfectly again.

My client is less than impressed by this. Do you have any idea what may be causing this?

    Many thanks

    Scott

    1. Hi,
it seems problems with cache, maybe some plugin that manages cache could cause the problem.
      What happens exactly?

  5. Thanks for your help on my previous comment. Could you possibly help me with a new issue. If a user has an account already eg a jigoshop account, is it then correct that they cannot create an affiliate account?

    1. Hi,
they can create an affiliate account. If an registered user access to affiliates-area he has a registration form to become an affiliate.
      cheers

      1. Hi, thanks for your quick responses. The issue I face is it wont let me sign up with the same email address. If I have signed up to the shop first. When I try to sign up for an affiliate it highlights my email address as being a problem. If I change it from the one that is signed up to the shop it works?

Lastly, is there a way to display the pretty URL. Currently it just displays the normal URL.

        1. Hi,

1.- If the user already exists then he musts login and then sign up to the affiliate area (user’s email is used as affiliate’s email).
2.- If the user not exists, then he can directly sign up to the affiliate area.

To pretty URL, you must use type=”pretty”, for example:

          [affiliates_affiliate_url type="pretty"]
          [affiliates_affiliate_link type="pretty"]

          cheers

  6. Hi guys, I need to know how to change the affiliate link in the email that gets sent out to new signing up affiliates.

At present it send them to the wp-admin which isnt sufficient, I need it to send them to a specific page that I have set up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks

    Scott

    1. I’m not sure how this would be related to Affiliates Jigoshop Light … but you probably have an issue with your theme or a short code on the shop page?

  8. Hi,

Is it possible to set it up so always 10% of the sales will go to someone? In this case the webmaster? so without a affiliate link?

  9. I am not sure what the correct settings for the permissions are in options/permissions section.

There are three columns and six rows. The documentation does not explain it well.

I need to allow affiliates to register as an affiliate, advertise and sell my product and get paid at the end of the month.

I plan to upgrade to the pro version if enough sales start coming in via affiliates.

What are the correct boxes to check in that matrix?

    1. You don’t need to alter anything on those settings, unless you want to grant access to all affiliate data to roles other than administrators. Make sure to take a look at the Affiliates documentation for details on generating an affiliate area – which is at the reach of pressing a button under Affiliates > Options 😉

  10. Does this Affiliates plugin require the user to accept a terms & conditions upon affiliate account creation?

    1. Yes it supports that, it’s an option, see more in the documentation.

    Hi..am on wordpress 3.4

    I have installed 3 plugin
Affiliate plugin, Affiliate jigoshop light & Jigoshop

Why The affiliate menu not appear on dashboard?

Should I buy affiliate plugin for that or free?

    thanks in advance

    1. You should see the Affiliates menu on the back end. If it doesn’t appear it might be a conflict with your setup, but it’s difficult to say without knowing anything else about your installation.
