EDD Integration, custom links, and custom confirmation emails

Hi, this plugin seems feature rich but I’m having a hard time working a few things out.
It will be great if you can help me with these three (probably simple!) questions. I’ve had a good look through the documentation but can’t really find the info…
1. I can’t see how this integrates with EDD. I have installed enterprise and EDD add on. Is that all I have to do or do I need to enable something in either EDD or Affiliates?
2. Can I create custom links for affiliates? I want to be able to make it /?=name instead of /?=affiliate4 or whatever it is. Happy to edit this in database or whatever if necessary.
3. I want to create an confirmation email for people who sign up for the program. Is this is a feature and if so how can I customise the existing email?
Thanks in advance.

That’s great – thanks Kento.
With the affiliates URL, if I change it to a custom one after I have already set up a few affiliates, will it work ok if I do a redirect on the old URL? How would you recommend doing a redirect?
I want to customise it but don’t want to send existing affiliates a new link. Thanks.
If you change it you must either use a rewrite rule or let affiliates know to update their links, changing the parameter will effectively void any affiliate links that are using the old parameter. If it’s not many affiliates and you have just set it up, it would probably be less work to just make sure they change their links. If that’s not an option, rewrite rules would be necessary. What web server are you using?
I’m on a Linux server. I guess I could make a rewrite rule in .htaccess?
It will probably be easier just updating existing affiliates as there are only a couple at this stage. Thanks for the help Kento.
Yes if there are only two then it would probably easier 🙂
Hi Damien,
#1 With the “Easy Digital Downloads – Affiliates Pro” activated along with EDD and Affiliates Enterprise it’s fine.
#2 Yes you can choose an alternative parameter, if you go to Affiliates > Options you will see one that says “Affiliate URL parameter name”, the default is “affiliates” which you can change to the one you prefer.
#3 The standard WordPress notification is sent to the new user, you can use a plugin such as SB Welcome Email Editor (see http://www.itthinx.com/useful-plugins/) to customize those. It’s also possible to hook into the registration process if you prefer, let me know if you need help with that.
Cheers
