Affiliate New Sign-Up And PayPal Email
—
by
Hello,
I had set-up the whole of Affiliate Enterprise plugin on mine client (Mr. ROB Davidson) website and all are working fine, except, I have few questions:
1. Whenever a new affiliate sign-up, s/he will be assigned the role as an Administrator, what can be done so that a new Affiliate or an existing Affiliate role will be pre-fixed as a subscriber.
2. At the time of sign-up, what if I want to add a field name PayPal Address – also, in case, if its not possible to have the filed at the place of sign-up, what other ways by which I can ask the Affiliate to add their paypal email address.
Please help with both the questions above.
Thanks
Karan Chopra

Also is there a way for an affiliate to log in, then redirect to an affiliate registration form, in order to sign up another affiliate who then becomes a their referral? Or is it done simply via URL?
Just to clarify: Affiliates should sign up themselves, not for another person or an entity which they don’t legally represent. If you just want to record that a new affiliate was referred by an existing one, see http://www.itthinx.com/2011/07/11/recording-sign-up-referrals/ – or if you want to use it for multiple tiers, then Affiliates Enterprise would be an option.
Hi there again, I have just bought ‘affiliates by username’ that says I can have the affiliate URL as http://www.mysite.com/affiliates/username , but it doesnt allow that? Any ideas?
Hi,
Are you using [affiliates_by_username] shortcode? For example: [affiliates_by_username][affiliates_url][/affiliates_by_username]
cheers
Yeah I can use the shortcode, however the URL still renders as http://www.mysite.com?affiliates=username, however the tutorial suggests we can replace the ? and = with /, to make a pretty URL, however when used, a 404 error not found comes up? Any ideas?
Can you give an example of how you’re using it? Note that if you use a pretty URL for that, it will only work with the base URL but not with links to certain pages.
Hi there…
Yeah I know the pretty URL only works with base URL. My normal affiliate link is as follows:
http://voltzsupplements.com?distributor=11
I am the admin, so I wanted to change it to:
http://voltzsupplements.com/distributor/admin
However it wont recognise that pretty URL, even though software tutorial suggests that it should….any ideas?
It looks like something’s in conflict with those URLs. Do you have any rewrite rules in place that might affect the link?
Could it be the rewrite settings in wordpress itself??
It could be, can you check with Rewrite Rules Inspector if there is anything that looks like it might interfere?
Here are the rewrite rules in the .htaccess…
# BEGIN WordPress
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
# END WordPress
These look ok.
Hi there…
I have sent you an email, but I also tested the software on a simple test site that I have, with no other plugins, and I had the same problem. In fact even the pretty URLs types, with the affiliate number only, refused to work…
I really need help here, is it possible there is an error in the plugin?
Certainly not an error in the plugin. This works fine unless there’s some conflict, which we’ll need to identify. Please post the results from the Rewrite Rules Inspector (these will be large, please use pastebin).
Here are some rewrite rules from the software for URL:
http://voltzsupplements.com/distributor/admin
(.?.+?)(/[0-9]+)?/?$ index.php?pagename=$matches[1]&page=$matches[2] page
[^/]+/([^/]+)/?$ index.php?attachment=$matches[1] post
Does that help? I think I have found a possible conflict with another plugin too, based on a test site I use…
I don’t think these would interfere, which plugin have you identified that might cause a conflict? I’d like to try that out.
Thank you! Just tested it myself, it all seems to be fine and working!!!
Thank you for the help, will get back to you if I need any more 🙂
Hi there…
I have just sent the login, let me know if u need anything else…
Thank you
Thanks, got it. Works fine, see the referral for order #50 – this has been recorded automatically after visiting the affiliate’s link and placing the order.
I have replied to the email, where do I send the login details, as I dont really want to post them here on a public forum!
Sure, please send them to support at itthinx dot com.
Hi there…
I have installed the software, set the new settings, but no commission is appearing in the results….?????
Hi,
you can send us login access to support at itthinx dot com, and we can take a look.
cheers
Many thanks, will U post the link or will it just be in the download lists?
Pleasure 🙂 You will be able to download it from this page: http://www.itthinx.com/plugins/affiliates-ready-light/
Brilliant!! HUGE thanks…will check it later 🙂
You can download it from the plugin page now Affiliates Ready Light.
I’m going to get in touch with the developers to see if they can add a hook we need to synchronize the order payment and referral status.
Thanks for suggesting the integration, I hope you’ll find it useful 🙂
Thank you for the help too, and yes good idea! Ready Ecommerce seems to be getting very popular, one reason why I used it!!
Hi There…
Have you had any luck?
Ok cool…
But I am a little confused here. I was told that the software would integrate with any ecommerce, but now I find not Ready ecommerce.
I have gone to the API page, but again I am told very little. I need a little more help here, all i need is for any purchase to apply the relevant commission to the affiliate, but now realise that I cannot….this is important, I do love the software, but its not working for my purpose atm after I have actually purchased it, can u help a little more?
Thank you
Hi ferky, sure – do you need help or guidance on how to do the integration yourself or are you looking for a ready integration? In case you’re looking for the latter, I’ll be happy to take a look and provide a basic integration (their solution looks promising). Let me know in either case what you need.
Hi there..
Yes please! I am looking for integration to Ready Ecommerce. If u can do that for me, brilliant. I can then install as with any other ecommerce…..
Please help!!!
Surprise, the light integration plugin’s ready and will be published today 🙂
Hi there..
Thats great, but it suggests that it wont work on Affiliates Enterprise, just pro? I have enterprise…
Hi, This should work well in enterprise.
Hi there…
I installed Ready ecommerce before we found Affiliates Enterprise, and was assured that it would integrate, is there a way of doing it?
Hi,
sure, you can use API for this purpose.
You should look for hooks that have ecommerce, and use the api to create the referrals.
cheers
Hi there…
I cannot find the Ecommerce Integration, I have found some files relating to specific Ecommerce Plugins, but nothing about Ready Ecommerce??
Hi,
sorry, I think you are using WP Ecommerce.
There isn’t an integration to Ready Ecommerce, therefore referrals are not recorded.
cheers
Hi there….
I have Ready Ecommerce installed, and Affiliates Enterprise. When a referral purchases a product, the %commission is not assigned to the affiliate, despite the purchase being made through the affiliate URL, and the % levels set correctly? Any ideas?
Hi,
have you installed the Affiliates Ecommerce Integration ? that file is within the enterprise version.
cheers
Hi,
1.- Affiliates use wordpress registration, you can setup this in Settings->General->”New User Default Role”
2.- See Setting up an affiliate profile page – note that they don’t need to set a PayPal email address explicitly if it is the same as the one they used to register on the site, as that will be taken by default.
In affiliates profile, you can show paypal email with:
[affiliates_affiliate_profile show_attributes="paypal_email" edit_attributes="paypal_email"]
cheers
