Prevent duplicate referrals in Affiliates Pro

If I untick the option to allow duplicates, would that prevent situations where a duplicate is created when:
1. a customer goes through the cart and checkout onto payment,
2. chooses a method of payment
3. on the payment page/popup they are informed of lets say low funds
4. they go back to the checkout and choose a different method

Is this situation prevent by turning off the option in the Affiliates Pro panel or do I have a deeper issue on my store?

    Welcome to our support forum for Affiliates Pro.

    Based on your description, you should be able to avoid duplicate referrals this way.
    BTW, what is the referral status for such an order when the payment fails? Also, what is the default status of your referrals found in Affiliates > Settings > Referrals(tab) and which are your settings for referral status transitions found under Affiliates > WooCommmerce?

    Beyond this support request, I’ve also noticed that your license for Affiliates Pro has expired since September 2024.
