Can an affiliate register being “referred” by an existing affiliate

I’m not sure if this is possible within the current plugin features (haven’t found a way), and it’s quite hard to find similar questions in the forum, so, sorry if this has been asked before.

We need to register new affiliates and add a field that they can fill in case they are registering cause an existing affiliate has invited/recommended them (the part of adding a field is easy).

In case the new affiliate has come referred by an existing affiliate the “referee” (the one that has invited them) will be granted an additional 2% of the referred (the invited user) commissions.

ie: “Foo” invites “Bar”.

Foo has a 8% commission on sales + 2% of Bar commissions.
Bar has 8% commission on sales.

So if Bar gets 8% of a sale of 100 (8) Foo gets 1.28 and Bar still gets the full 8.

  1. Hi Elena,

Welcome to our support forum and many thanks for choosing our affiliates plugin.

What you are describing is possible with tiered commissions, a feature supported by a different version of the plugin, Affiliates Enterprise.

With tiered commissions, an affiliate who has been referred by another affiliate will get a tiered commission for every commission referred by his referrees. You may also read how does Affiliates Enterprise cover tiered commissions in Affiliate Tiers Demystified blog post.

For example Foo affiliate refers Bar affiliate.
Whenever Bar refers ie a new sale, Bar will get a sale commission.
Foo will get a tiered commission.

In your example though I’m not sure about the numbers.
Bar refers a sale and gets 8% of the sale.
Foo gets a tiered commission which is 8% of which amount? Also, the extra commission is 2% of which amount again?

    Kind regards,
    George
