Referrals with 0.00 value

Hi,
I´m using your plugin Affiliates Pro since several years and I´ve never understood why there are so many referrals with 0.00 value. I know that these are free products (we sell digital products and offer some for free as demos). Is there a possibility to avoid these to show up ? Here is how it looks like on the dashboard:

and

In addition, I´m getting double email notification for each referral and I don´t know how to remove the second one. Any idea ?

Thanks and best regards,
Martin

    1. Hi George,

thanks for your help, but I´m still having problem. I just tried to send you a response to your email, but got this back: This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of

  3. Hi Martin,

Actually I’ve prepared the templates you can use.
After adding the folders I mentioned in your theme, put there the files you will find attached in the email I’ve sent you in the email address you used on checkout.

Even though I have also included a modified template for overview, I think it’s better not to use it. In the overview you can see the amount for a set period of time and therefore IMO it’s better to show 0 instead of nothing when there are no referral amounts, it’s up to you.

    Kind regards,
    George

    1. Thanks very much for your help! Fantastic support, really appreciated!

      All working now 🙂

  4. Hi Martin,

FYI, by copying the template in a folder inside your theme allows you to override the default template located in the plugin folder. If you are not familiar with PHP that’s fine, I can have a look and send you the template files.

In general, when there is no commission there is no reason to record a referral, but your case is special since you are using free products and therefore a modification is required. Working with templates is an easy way to modify the front-end and at the same time keep the modifications intact upon a plugin update. As I mentioned I’ll have a look at the templates, add the required elements for your case and let you know.

    Kind regards,
    George

    1. Thanks a lot, appreciate your help! Do you need anything from me at the moment ?

  5. Hi George,
thanks, but is this supposed behaviour ? I´m not a developer and I don´t know if I´m able to modify php code to make this work. Double entries in the templates don´t look correct to me. Isn´t this something that should be fixed in your plugin ?

    Best regards,
    Martin

  6. Hi Martin,

    Thanks for enjoying our plugins.

FYI, since Affiliates Dashboard has been introduced, all the data are rendered through templates. All the template files can be found under affiliates-pro/templates/dashboard. Once you copy/paste overview-pro.php and earnings-entry.php in wp-content/themes/yourtheme/affiliates/dashboard/ open them from their new location and modify the results to avoid rendering entries with zeros. The templates copy is essential so that you can keep your modifications after a future update of Affiliates plugin.

If you need further assistance on how to modify the templates please drop us a comment here.

    Kind regards,
    George
