Possible with Affiliates Enterprise

Hey there,

Is it possible to do the following?

1. display an affiliate ranking in the affiliate profile?
2. show ranking list for different ranks, depending on which rank you are logged in with?
3. With the “Automatic Affiliates” extension, all customers should automatically become affiliates. However in a rank without payment. Thus also customers affiliate links are to be made available, for customer bring customer actions.
4. real affiliates, on the other hand, should register using the registration form and must be checked manually?
5. When they are approved, they are automatically moved to a different rank?
5. we need 2 levels for the right affiliates (20% and 5% lifetime). If someone follows an affiliate link and becomes an affiliate himself, does the system automatically recognize him or does he have to be manually assigned to the referrer?
6. do affiliates get their own WordPress permissions which can be checked with “current_user_can”?

Thanks.

  1. Hey there,
Thank you for all you questions!
I will try to answer as closely as possible, but I also highly recommend reading the plugin documentation, (it can be found at http://docs.itthinx.com/document/affiliates-enterprise/) as it is quite thorough. I’m providing the corresponding Doc page with each of my answers if you are interested in some more extensive information.

    2. show ranking list for different ranks, depending on which rank you are logged in with?

Sorry, I’m a bit lost here, do you want to display the affiliate level based on Tiers?
Generally speaking, you could show information regarding tiers with the use of the [affiliates_tiers] shortcode. It has an option to show the current depth in the tier tree. It is used like so:
    [affiliates_tiers show_depth_title="yes"]
The Docs page is as follows:
    http://docs.itthinx.com/document/affiliates-enterprise/shortcodes/advanced-shortcodes-ii/affiliates_tiers/

And here’s a detailed post regarding Affiliate Tiers in general, I believe it could prove fairly useful:

    3. With the “Automatic Affiliates” extension, all customers should automatically become affiliates. However in a rank without payment. Thus also customers affiliate links are to be made available, for customer bring customer actions.

You can enable the built-in User Registration integration which allows to grant commissions to affiliates when they refer new users under Affiliates > User Registration. Then the new affiliate is counted as a referral for the existing affiliate which link he used to register.

    http://docs.itthinx.com/document/affiliates-enterprise/setup/settings/referrals/

    4. real affiliates, on the other hand, should register using the registration form and must be checked manually?

There is no need to check affiliates manually when they register, although you can set a Pending status under Affiliates > Settings > Registration. If set to Active, then the affiliate becomes active automatically and the admin will just receive an email indicating that a new user has been registered at the site as well as an email indicating that a new affiliate has joined the affiliate program.
Under General > Registration you can enable affiliate registration and manage settings regarding the registration form.
    Doc page:
    http://docs.itthinx.com/document/affiliates-enterprise/setup/settings/registration/

You can also manually add an affiliate, by going to Affiliates > Manage Affiliates and clicking New Affiliate.

6.If someone follows an affiliate link and becomes an affiliate himself, does the system automatically recognize him or does he have to be manually assigned to the referrer?

They will be assigned as a referral to the affiliate which link they clicked in order to register.

    7. do affiliates get their own WordPress permissions which can be checked with “current_user_can”?

An affiliate can be tied to a user account on your site. When an affiliate signs up for your program via your registration form, a new user is registered on your site and you can assign and check permissions for them like for any regular user. Existing users can become a part of your affiliate program as well.
All affiliates are managed in the Affiliates > Manage Affiliates section.
    Documentation:
    http://docs.itthinx.com/document/affiliates-enterprise/affiliate-program-management/managing-affiliates/

Additionally, permissions regarding the viewing of affiliate data and settings can be set for different roles at
Affiliates > Settings > General under Permissions
As quoted from the documentation “Do not assign permissions to open access for affiliates here. This section is only intended to grant administrative access on affiliate management functions to privileged roles.”

    The Doc page is at:
    http://docs.itthinx.com/document/affiliates-enterprise/setup/settings/general/

Don’t worry if you feel a bit overwhelmed by that much info and resources, if you’d like me to further clarify anything, please feel free to ask in the comments 🙂

    Cheers
