Determining What is Needed
—

Hello:
I purchased Affiliates Pro and Affiliates Coupon today, but I think I made an error. Let me describe what is needed so I can get your suggestion.
Here is the scenario:
1. We are selling dog lure courses and want to be able to create a way for dog shelters to get credit for a sale, or a for a user to attribute a sale to a specific dog shelter. I through affiliates pro would allow us to do to this via a referral link the shelter could share, or by a user manually entering a coupon code the shelter shared let’s say on a newsletter. I see the referral link in my text and I created a coupon via the attribute, but when I attempt to check out it says the coupon does not exist.
I then purchased the coupon add on for $19 – but from what I see this is going to discount the product which we do not want, we just want the coupon code to be tied to an affiliate (dog shelter) so at the end of the month we can pay the dog shelters the right amount of money. It would be nice to automatically generate the coupon codes and attribute them to an affiliate, and have the ability to edit that code if needed. I thought this is what the plugin did but maybe I’m mistaken.
Essentially a scenario would be a person wants to buy a lure course, does not have the affiliate link, and someone told them to use “puppy2018” at checkout on the website so a specific shelter gets credit for the sale.
If this can be achieved in Affiliates Pro without the coupon add on, can you point me in the right direction? I’m also fine with keeping the add on if it helps us achieve the goal
2. We are donating $25.00 for each of our lure courses which are higher ticket items. We will have some replacement items in there that are low cost, which we won’t donate $25 for since the items are less than $10. I then saw the affiliates product add on, but before I buy it I want to make sure this is what I would use before I purchase it. We may consider giving a percentage of sales for other items that are lower costs, but again they need to be tied into an affliate via the link or a coupon code so the proper animal shelter gets credit.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the response. I read the documentation for the affiliates coupon plugin and I am still not sure it is going to what I want it to do. We do not want to discount the items in the cart at all, we simply want someone to be able to enter a coupon code at checkout so the proper affiliate gets credit so we can donate money to them at the end of the month.
Could we achieve this by assigning a 0% discount to a coupon, that way the product would not be discounted at all and the proper affiliate would get credit for the sale?
Do I still have to create a WooCommerce coupon when using affiliates coupon to make it work? I did not see it in the documentation, but I am assuming this is the case. Perhaps I missed it.
Thanks!
Hi,
Sorry I had misunderstood it. With this plugin the user can indicate the affiliate’s email in the checkout page, maybe you can use this.

Hi Jeff,
1.- You can create manually the coupons associations editing the affiliates, please have a look at this documentation page. But you need to have created the woocommerce coupon.
If you want that automatically the affiliates have the coupons created and associated, Affiliates Coupon is the solution. If you are going to use the coupons, the addon will save you a lot of time.
Please have a look at the addon documentation page, if you need help, please let me know.
2.- You can do it from the Rates table of the Affiliates Pro plugin. You don’t need the Affiliates Product addon.
